⚠️ Warning: Long Post Ahead. Pa-rant lang ulit… gigil niyo ako eh.
From now on, I will be reporting pages that post biased and misleading information claiming that the Philippine government is actively helping with OFW repatriation (nakakasira ng araw).
To clarify the situation: there has been no advisory from our Embassy in the UAE regarding repatriation. THERE IS NO ONGOING REPATRIATION. Repatriation will only be activated if the alert level is raised to Level 4 (kung may matira pa sa budget ng Pelepens for affected OFWs 😅) . As of now, there is no repatriation being implemented.
Seeing misleading posts about this is very disappointing, and it is already affecting my peace of mind, especially knowing the real situation and reality on the ground.
To Philippine media outlets and social media influencers: please be responsible and sensitive about what you post and share. Do not spread narratives that are far from the truth just for attention, views, or engagement.
It is frustrating to see these claims while many OFWs who contribute greatly to the Philippine economy are left to deal with the situation largely on our own (keep calm and be safe ngani). At a time when support is most needed, we continue to hear about corruption, misuse of funds, and resources that were supposed to be allocated to help OFWs in times of crisis.
OFWs deserve honesty, transparency, and real support...not misleading stories that create a false image of assistance (wag kayo pabida bida).
Please report responsibly. Tell the truth. Respect the people who continue to sacrifice for the country.
K. Bye.
