As I close the doors of Littleness I would like to release this Grammy award winning speech (insert your possible yawns):
Littleness actually started in November 2008 when I began making clips and accessory holders for my 7 months old daughter (now 4 ½) and little family members.
I have always had an interest in buttons, ribbons, lace, studs, sparkle and vintage accessories (for women) – it was time to do something with it! My sister was the one who eventually came up with the name Littleness. Thanks Mara x
In March 2011 (when my love affair with Facebook was at its peak) I opened Littleness on Facebook. I could not believe that by July 2011 I had buyers from all over Australia and in New Zealand - with some items being shipped overseas. It took me almost a year to realise “I have my very own customers!”
Then in October 2011, thanks to my lovely friend Erin from Chi-Bird, so began my love of the market scene. I started with a small market in Seaford and Mums n Bubs Goodwood, eventually attending the Southern Market, McLaren Flat Country Craft Market, Makers & Growers Market Christies Beach and Panther’s Club Southern Community Christmas Carols - among a few others.
4 years on, hundreds of creations later and with a gorgeous new addition to our family (now 3 months), deciding to close with 1277 fans was hard and for a number of reasons I won’t got into. At the end of the day, if you are not enjoying it anymore...? I am peaceful with this decision.
Thanks to my mum and my nanna who constantly scouted markets, garage sales, op-shops, brochures and retailers for my supplies. From materials and vintage buttons to display items and storage! You have helped me greatly and have been a constant support (as always).
Thank you to Helen at Blow Your Top Hair Designers, this wonderful woman has stocked Littleness for almost two years and has been my hairdresser for 10+, I am ever so grateful.
I would like to make special mention of Lydia Kammer Photography, I met Lydia after she used one of my clips in a photo shoot and tagged Littleness. Since then our family photo shoots have been with Lydi and I still can’t believe how well she captures my little family. Oh my heart.
Thank you to my friends and family who shared my albums, attended markets, my market buddies, purchased online or popped in for a coffee and a browse - having people love and Like my “stuff” was the most rewarding thing about Littleness. My number one customer without a doubt would be Jennifer! Thank you. I will not mention you ALL though, in fear of leaving someone out!
Lastly thanks to YOU for joining the Littleness journey. From the start, through the middle and all the way to the very end.
Much love, V
