The heirlooms of tomorrow. ❤️

These extraordinary natural pair of oval pigeon blood rubies were part of our gemstone collection when a wonderful couple, who we’ve been so fortunate to come to know, fell completely in love with them.

From there came an idea, some hand-drawn sketches, inspired by the elegance and geometry of the Art Deco era, and a vision to create something that would truly celebrate the incredible colour and radiance of these beautiful natural rubies.

From that first sketch, each element was then fully handmade by us in our Bowral workshop/boutique.
The rubies were complemented with natural diamonds and contrasting yellow and white gold, creating a beautiful sense of length while allowing those remarkable red gemstones to remain the hero.

And this is one of the things we love most about what we do, watching an idea on a piece of paper slowly become something real, entirely through the work of our hands.

No CAD. No casting. Just traditional jewellery making, from the first sketch to the finished piece.

There is also something incredibly special about creating jewellery that begins its story with us, knowing that one day it will carry a history far beyond our own.

We take enormous pride in working with and preserving beautiful jewellery from generations past, but equally in creating new heirlooms. Pieces that will be loved, worn and celebrated now, before continuing their story with generations still to come.

That, to us, is one of the most meaningful parts of what we do. 🤍

Fully handmade in Bowral.

Fully handmade. Hand engraved. Currently available. ✨

Three individual rings, each beginning as raw precious metal and fully handmade by us in our Bowral workshop using traditional jewellery-making techniques, before being beautifully finished with traditional hand engraving. 💎

No CAD. No casting.

From the bold, flowing scrollwork to the finer intricate patterns, each ring has its own character.
Every detail of the engraving is cut individually by hand, giving each piece a depth and individuality that simply cannot be replicated by a machine.

We love creating jewellery this way, preserving traditional skills and celebrating the workmanship that goes into making something truly individual.

We are also very fortunate to work alongside a wonderfully talented hand engraver, whose artistry adds that final special detail to pieces such as these.

All three of these fully handmade & hand engraved rings are currently available in our Bowral boutique.

We’ve also been a little quieter on here lately, but for a very good reason!
Our workshop has been incredibly busy behind the scenes, making sure all of our special handmade commissions continue moving along beautifully.

And goodness, do we have some things to show you… ✨
There are so many beautiful pieces and stories waiting to be shared over the coming weeks, and we cannot wait to finally show you what we’ve been working on.

Made by hand. Engraved by hand. Made to be worn and loved.

From sketch to gold bar to finished piece. ✨
A glimpse behind the scenes at the making of this extraordinary bespoke collier, designed and fully handmade in our Bowral workshop.

Every element was individually formed, forged, fitted and finished by hand using traditional fine jewellery techniques. No CAD. No casting.

This reel captures just some of the many hours that went into bringing the piece to life, from working the gold and constructing each individual component including handmade lock and "Auric Erosion" a technique taught by Georges late father for the texture of the metal, through to setting the beautiful natural amber and those final finishing touches at the bench.

For us, this is what fully handmade fine jewellery means. It isn't simply how a piece looks when it is finished, but how it was created, considered and engineered along the way.

We hope you enjoy seeing a little of the process behind this very special piece. 🩷

A 4.01ct natural ruby masterpiece that is true luxury. ❤️

At the heart of this extraordinary ring is a certified 4.01ct natural ruby, with the most incredible rich colour.

Working alongside our lovely client who would have created many pieces for, we designed a completely bespoke piece around this beautiful stone, incorporating her own sentimental diamonds into a ring that is such a one-of-a-kind piece. ✨

George fully handmade the ring here in our Bowral workshop, beginning with the raw precious metals and constructing every element individually.
The ruby is framed in warm rose gold, creating such a beautiful contrast against the white gold, while graduated baguette diamonds sweep along either side and brilliant-cut diamonds flow through the sculptural split shoulders.

Even the finer details were considered from every angle, with additional diamonds tucked into the side profile and an open construction beneath the ruby, complications that aren't immediately obvious from above, but make the finished piece so unique.

Every part was fully handmade, with no CAD and no casting. 💎

The result is one very special ring, and one we are incredibly proud to have made. And needless to say, she is so beyond happy with her wearable work of art.❤️✨

Please enjoy the handmaking and finished photos of this truly magnificent piece.

✨This beautiful diamond ring came to us after years of being worn and loved.
Over time, the original settings had become very worn and one of the diamonds had unfortunately been lost, meaning the ring needed considerably more than a simple repair.

Our first step was to source a natural diamond that matched her existing diamonds as closely as possible, so the finished ring would remain beautifully balanced. 💎
From there, the central settings were completely remade, carefully rebuilding the structure around her diamonds while retaining the character of the original ring she had loved for so many years.

There is something particularly special about working with jewellery like this. Rather than replacing a much-loved piece with something entirely new, we can preserve what matters to its owner while giving the ring the strength, care and attention it now needs to continue being enjoyed. ❤️

We have also been incredibly busy of late, with so many beautiful large custom pieces for our clients currently being handmade in our workshop, but we have lots of wonderful pieces to share with you shortly! 🎉

After many years of wear and love, this beautiful ring was ready for a new chapter. 💙

At the heart of it was her original sapphire, a stone filled with years of sentiment, but showing the effects of time.
We had the sapphire carefully recut and polished, bringing back its beautiful colour and brilliance while keeping the stone that meant so much to her. ✨

When redesigning the ring, we wanted to retain the elements she had always loved while giving the design greater balance and structure.
We suggested adding an additional pair of baguette diamonds, with three either side to frame the sapphire beautifully and bring more symmetry to the finished piece.

From there, George completely remade the ring by hand, bringing together her original sapphire, the details she loved from her old ring, and a few thoughtful changes to create something that still felt unmistakably hers.

A beautiful example of what a remake can be, not changing the story, but giving a much-loved piece a new beginning. ✨💙

Fully handmade in our Bowral workshop. No CAD. No casting.

Please enjoy the before, handmaking and finished photos of this beautiful ring.

"Will you marry me?” to “I do.” ❤️

There have been some very special celebrations amongst our clients lately, and we’ve been patiently waiting for a few secrets to finally be out so we could share them.

Two beautiful new engagements & a wedding, each with a completely different story.

For one, we worked together with our lovely client to choose her beautiful Australian teal sapphire and design her engagement ring.
Then, towards the end, her partner quietly stepped in so the finished ring could remain a surprise until he was ready to propose. 💎

For another, it was a complete surprise. A lovely young man came to us and chose a beautiful natural warm elongated cushion-cut diamond for his partner, which we then fully handmade into her elegant yellow gold solitaire. And with the ring safely tucked away, we waited for the wonderful news that she had said yes!”

And while two couples are beginning that next chapter, another very special couple have just celebrated theirs.

After previously having the privilege of handmaking their engagement ring, they returned to us for their wedding rings and have now officially said “I do.”

Being a part of these special moments is one of the loveliest things about what we do. ✨

Some couples choose every detail together.
Some proposals are a complete surprise.
Some start with an engagement ring and, a little while later, we find ourselves making the wedding rings too.

There really are no rules. Every couple, every ring and every story is wonderfully their own.

All of these rings were fully handmade by us here in our Bowral boutique, traditionally forged from solid gold and made individually for the people who will wear them.

A huge congratulations to our two newly engaged couples, and to our beautiful newlyweds. ❤️

Thank you for allowing us to play a small part in some very big moments.

🌷 TULIPS ARE IN BLOOM AT BOWRAL FINE JEWELLERY 🌷

As the Southern Highlands begins to come alive for Tulip Time, it seems the tulips are blooming inside Bowral Fine Jewellery too. ✨

A flower that will never fade.

This extraordinary one-of-a-kind dress ring was entirely handmade by us in our Bowral boutique/workshop, created as a piece of wearable art rather than simply a piece of jewellery.

At its heart sits a spectacular carved natural citrine, its beautiful golden tones forming the centre of the flower. Surrounding it, individually handmade petals are brought to life with sparkling natural diamonds, while vivid green tsavorite garnets nestle into the shoulders like little leaves either side. 🌿

Even underneath, the detail continues.

Every curve, petal, setting and element has been considered and made by hand, creating a ring that is just as beautiful from the side and back as it is from above. 💎

A completely unique, fully handmade Bowral Fine Jewellery creation, made for someone who loves jewellery that is a little different, beautifully made, and unmistakably their own.

So, while the tulips are blooming throughout Bowral this spring, we have a very special bloom of our own waiting to be discovered. 🌷

This beauty is currently available in our Bowral boutique. ✨

Come and see her in person, photographs simply cannot capture all of the detail, colour and personality in this one. ❤️

Wearable. One-of-a-kind. Art.

Please enjoy the handmaking and finished photos of this beauty.

✨One of the things we’ve always believed strongly in at Bowral Fine Jewellery is being open with our clients and helping you understand your fine jewellery, even when our recommendation isn’t necessarily the one you were expecting.

Repairs have always been an important part of our workshop, and we’re incredibly fortunate to have wonderful clients who trust us with their treasured pieces year after year.
We believe that trust comes from knowing we’ll always give an open and genuine assessment and recommend what we believe is best for the long-term integrity of your fine jewellery.

Sometimes, what appears to be a straightforward repair can tell a very different story once we look a little closer.

So, we thought we’d show you why.

There are many ways to approach jewellery repair.
Our recommendations are based on the standard of work we’re prepared to put our names to and what we believe will provide the best long-term outcome for your piece.

As a workshop of just the two of us, we balance repairs alongside handmaking bespoke fine jewellery, giving each job the time and consideration it deserves.

🔬 We also believe in showing you what we see, not simply telling you.

Our microscope is right here in the boutique, so we can examine your jewellery with you and show you wear or concerns that may be invisible to the naked eye.
We also have XRF X-ray technology on site to analyse precious metal composition when needed.

We recommend having the fine jewellery you regularly wear professionally checked at least yearly. Wear can often be identified early, before it results in a lost gemstone or a much more extensive repair.

Have a swipe through, some of what you see might surprise you. 👀🔬
