Beltane blessings dear hearts!
🌸🙏🌸
Today is the traditional date for Beltane in the southern hemisphere (the exact date is next Monday, the 7th November).
This is such a beautiful time of year with jacaranda, silky oak and Illawarra flame tree all flowering. Tawny frogmouths are breeding and birds are feeding their young. The native sugarbag bees are active, storing their honey for the coming summer and winter months. Bats and possums are on the move and wallabies birth their young while water dragons, crocodiles and turtles begin their nesting and breeding seasons. Cicadas emerge from the soil, ready to voice their song in the summer months.

As the wheel turns, the Goddess is in her fullness, with nature exploding all around us. The God moves towards the height of summer as the days grow longer and warmer. Whether you're honouring Beltane today or on the exact date, I wish you all the blessings for this time of year.

Good morning everyone ☀️ This is a post to update you on the journey that Eucalyptus Ceramics is taking this year.

For quite some time I’ve been trying to develop my own unique style and brainstorm a way to incorporate the Australian landscape I see around me everyday.

I’ve always wanted to include the native gum leaves, flowers, animals, culture and colours into my work, but have struggled with a way to incorporate this into my creations and pottery. I feel I have achieved some of this in the colour schemes I currently use, the pinks and oranges reminiscent of our bright native flowers and the earthy brown and white of our eucalypt trees.

There are so SO many things you can do with pottery, with clays used, glazes, colours, techniques, firings etc etc I could go on and on. I’ve been spoilt for choice and without a clear idea of how I want to incorporate the above I have felt overwhelmed.

I want to create something that reflects my own style and what I want to achieve, but something that is also appreciated by everyone else. So that is why I’ll be winding back everything until the summer months. I’ll continue to post every now and again, but I want to take this time to really explore and solidify my own style and hopefully by the end of the year I’ll have brand new exciting things to show you. A more cohesive collection of myself reflected in my pottery creations 💗💗

So many copy cats out there, please create your own designs and be respectful of hard working people who create their own ideas 🙏🏻🌹 it’s an extremely competitive industry, with candle making, it can be disheartening when I see others, copying us, from the vessels to the decorating, and (way too much ) underpricing. It separates the passionate creators , from the dishonest “fast money” making frauds. True candle making, is not a cheap art. So please- come up with your own ideas and be mindful, the Universe dishes up exactly what we all deserve , eventually 😍😉 🙏🏻🦾
