Story time: My eldest sister is a brilliant knitter, and made a fabulous green cable knit cardi for her granddaughter. The road to hell being paved with good intentions, her partner threw it in the washing machine with a load, and her gorgeous knit came out a shrunken, felted tragedy.

I hung onto it for some years thinking I could possibly do something creative with it but, finally admitting I can’t possibly produce every single idea (or whisper of one), I gifted it to the delightful Keith Lo Bue of who - with his extraordinary talent, skills, superb craftsmanship and magic -transformed the ruin into this brilliant 1920s/30s style cap.

I take my hat off to Keith for giving this story a truly happy (cappy?) ending! 💚

And now for something completely different! I’m pretty excited to be heading out to Central West NSW this weekend NOT to do a market, but to perform with the excellent who are headlining this year’s !

My choir is doing backing harmonies on a bunch of ABBA favourites; it’ll be all I can do to not sing along with Agnetha and Frida 🫢 My bloke and I are then going to cruise on to Orange and Mudgee where it won’t be us hitting up the excellent country oppies, where I’m sure I won’t find any amazing vintage fabric to bring home 🙃

(FYI that’s me on the left in the first photo, doing some BVs with my friend Suzy’s Motown band, Suzy & The Snakepit 🤩)

There’s absolutely nothing dim about this divine dimity cotton!

Fresh as a daisy - as a field full of daisies! - from the 60s, at 460x88 this is a huge length for pretty much (pretty being the operative word 🌸) dressmaking project.

It features bunches and garlands of bright flowers in shades of ruby, marigold, red-orange and pinks on white. This would be a gorgeous fabric even if it was just a plain cotton, but the beautiful patterned lace-like l bands take it up another glorious notch. The colours are hard to capture on my phone and are even prettier in real life.

It’s listed elsewhere for $35 per metre, or $130 for all, but for Jetsam followers it’s $30 per metre, $120 for all 4.6 metres!

Payment by DD or PP, post via tracked Australia Post satchel. LOOP

Out of the frying pan, into the fire! Still recovering frankly from my 5 day vintage sale where I bid a fond adieu to some amazing fabric and clothing, but have now dived head first into making things from vintage, reclaimed and no longer needed materials for the upcoming artists trail 😍

First up are these cute-as-a-button Christmas tree ornaments made from… well, you know. I’m also working on new designs for my Bra-Vissima jewellery using hand painted vintage bra findings.

All making their debut at the biggest ever market and this coming Saturday. Apart from my own offerings (did someone say gifts?) there are dozens of other makers and artisans with fabulous gifts and goods (try not to buy them just for yourself!), live music, food stalls and a wonderful creative street party vibe to Sydney Street, which will be closed to traffic.

Find me at .gallery on Saturday 13th December from 11am-5pm, 19 Sydney Street Marrickville (a 5 minute walk from the metro, across the road from the Bob Hawke Beer & Leisure Centre).

Just heading into day 2 of my Hot ‘n’ Cool Vintage Sale and haven’t had time to draw breath (which is a good thing!)

Here are the before and after pics; my amazing bloke gave me so much help doing multiple loads and transporting everything to the gallery and helping me set up in very hot and humid conditions… he’s an absolute keeper 🥰

My first day was beyond anything I’d contemplated for a mid week opening with loads of loot walking out the door (hopefully after being paid for haha!) but there are still loooads of vintage bargains to be had with 25% off all fabric and remnants, $15 t-shirts and no clothing or accessories over $20.

It’s on today until Sunday 30th at 19 Sydney Street Marrickville, diagonally opposite the Bob Hawke Beer & Leisure Centre.

This puts the A(mazing) into Atomic! Such a rare, large length of pristine, genuine 1950s ‘barkcloth family’ textured cotton… enough for , , a style frock, or whatever rocks your vintage boat.

The third photo shows the full width, but please ignore the colours, which are are closest in the ‘rose’ photo. However IRL the red is a luscious fire engine red, not as tomato red as it appears in my pics.

Measuring 115cm wide, I have 4.3 metres of this stunner at $90 pm, or $340 for the lot.

Postage extra, currently listed exclusively here.
