Oops hi, first post in like 6 months, soz for the accidental ghosting and yes I am alive. πŸ’‹

Over 12 months ago my beautiful friend Han gave me a family heirloom ring that had this big beautiful brilliant cut parti sapphire in it that was almost 2ct, it was cloudy and antique and needed a little TLC to restore it to its full beauty.

So we pulled it out of its old setting, repolished it, sourced some beautiful white diamonds to sit beside it and began working on a whole new re-make!

We went with classic, simple and elegant for the design and landed on this 9ct yellow gold trilogy ring where her family sapphire could absolutely STEAL the show.

I’m kicking myself I didn’t get any before pictures of the saph because it came up an absolute dream in comparison to when I first got it. Like magic πŸͺ„

It’s always such a beautiful process to make pieces like this for friends and to see her reaction will 4evaaaa be etched in my mind. πŸ₯Ή

OK, U.S.A that was a damn good time and thanks for the week long jet lag. Third time in this country and first time on the east coast and it seriously is always such a TIME! ❀️‍πŸ”₯ πŸ—½ (some snippets for you all)

Highlights/reflections: NYC, cybertrucks really are ugly AF, Philly cheesesteaks are otherworldly, Times Square is way smaller than I thought, NYC pizza is dope, Denver has it goin’ on, the states is still one of the most beautiful places I’ve ever been. 🀝🏽

As much as it always in complete transparency sucks going back to work after a vacation, it’s also such a reset for the creative mojo. ✨

I’m back in studio mode, catch up and processing orders. Thanks for the patience while I re-integrate. Can’t wait to maaaaake jewels again. πŸ˜†

β€˜Valentino’ this isn’t just another pretty necklace; it’s cute, it’s sexy, a little badass if you want it to be, it’s perfect for layering or to stand alone as the GORG feature piece it can be. Whatever floats your boat honestly.

My first new design of 2025 (I could cry) β€” the β€˜Cali’ ring. Solid 9ct yellow gold w/ a tiny little start set white diamond. β˜†ε½‘

I’m really digging the element of 3D patterning and how I can give detail, depth and contrast in a design simultaneously. You’ll see ALOT of this theme in this entire collection to come. Use of negative space and shape to create patterns. In this instance studded detailing on the front of the band was the main feature I wanted to achieve to give it something diiiiifferent and it came together perfectly. She’s delicate but kinda feisty with them studs- a little like her maker! πŸ€·πŸΌβ€β™€οΈ

I am swooning at this whole collection which currently includes four finished rings and one still in production and some secrets still in the works all in an array of gold & silver to cater a little wider. Holding my tounge on all of these has been haaaaard but I’m so proud of these works and the new direction these pieces swing Yang in. More sneaky previews to come! πŸ’‹

Some key take aways from 2024 as a self taught (still baby) jeweller, business owner and mom. πŸ‘‡πŸ½

1) The hustle can be overwhelming, rest when you damn well need it. You are of no use to your own success if you’re not even capable of handling it. 🀝🏽 be an advocate for yourself and your needs, you’ll be better for it.

2) Playing it safe is an insult to your imagination. Take a leap of faith. Art is subjective. Value is perceived. It’s both profoundly meaningful and meaningless. Push the fkn boundaries. Think outside the box. Try things and be prepared to fail in order to succeed.

3) πŸ–•πŸ½ imposter syndrome. You deserve to do whatever you want to do and to take up space doing it. Be loud. Be bold. Do it your way. No one gets to tell you how to create/exist/express etc. etc.

4) Work can wait. The world keeps revolving. Time keeps moving. We get older and so do our families. Life gets shorter. F*ck emails some days.

5) Asking for help is not defeating. It’s growing. It takes a village. It takes a team. It doesn’t make you any less of a passionate and connected *insert business role here*

6) We are in a constant state of flux. Not allowing your craft to shift with you is a disservice and it will become stagnant until you shake it up. Change your logo. Change your style. Experiment. Re-think your ideas. When you’re stuck, ask yourself why or what doesn’t feel right.

6) Art is playful even when it becomes your full time job. Make time for it to lack the pressure of being equitable and remember why it’s fun and creative. Don’t take it to seriously when it doesn’t need to be.

7) Don’t be so damn hard on yourself. Just getting out of bed is a productive day sometimes. Be kind to yourself. Show up even when it feels sh*t. Reignite your motivation piece by piece. Start by making your bed everyday.

This baby was all about contrasting elements and texture. Handmade. No wax on this one. The band was finished satin against a mirror polished setting to accentuate the two styles incorporated into one ring.

Give me six claws every damn day too. We love a bit of a unique claw arrangement.❀️‍πŸ”₯

Photos just aren’t doing her justice in all her dreamy glory and the garnet and gold match is just a pairing so god damn fine, I fkn drool for this combo.

Thank you for the patience and trust on this one Jaclyn, it was a journey from start to finish with some hiccups in between so it made landing here all the more sweeter. *mwah chefs kiss* πŸ€ŒπŸ½πŸ’‹

Woooah it’s been a long time since I’ve made a piece like this and it is coinciding with a turbulent time of life, almost mimicking the exact same time last year when I first made β€˜Aja’ in which features the same hoop design and detail. Both of these designs holding me through transitory periods of life and deep emotions. Made during times of total metamorphosis. Wild what comes through when you are crafting from cavities in your heart. ❀️‍πŸ”₯

Steph’s dog’s tooth set in solid oxidised sterling silver β€” custom made ❀️‍πŸ”₯ (swipe to see some of the process)

I’ve missed working with organic materials and creating grungy darker pieces and this custom was such a cool one to work on and delve back into that side of my jewellery.

Organic material is unforgiving in its shape and texture and always pushes you to think outside the box a little more than when you’re working with perfectly cut gemstones. It’s always an enjoyable challenge catering to weird angles and rough exteriors. 🀘🏽

Thanks Steph for trusting me with this, it is by far one of the most epic customs I’ve had the pleasure of doing in this style and I think we nailed the final design.

Harry’s partner Kat sent me this photo of Harry’s solid yellow gold name necklace yesterday and it made me so happy to see this piece out in the wild.

I’ve made a few pieces of these guys combined now and the story of this one was extra special (if you haven’t already seen, watch the reel back a few posts).

Making the jewellery is one thing but then remembering that it’s out there with the people you make it for being worn, cherished, giving meaning and most of all bringing joy. That’s the whole heart of this. πŸ’˜
