Sunlight and moonlight, captured together in metal and stone.
Hand-fabricated using ethically sourced gems and recycled silver, each jewel is the only one of its kind in the universe. ☀️🌙

Part of the Moonfire collection, these shimmering creations are still waiting for their soulmates on the website. Every piece adorning my hand features Sunstone from Sweden or Norway, and Moonstone from Madagascar, Sri Lanka or India, each chosen slowly and intentionally for its beauty and magic. Crafted with so much love. 💕

There’s just under 3 1/2 days to go until the light of Moonfire is released into the world, and I’m spending the second half of this week taking photos, writing listing descriptions and uploading everything onto my website so it’s ready for release. From 7pm AEST this Sunday, the 10th of May, 25 hand-forged jewels will be waiting for new homes, inspired by the beauty, magic and power of our Sun and Moon. ☀️🌙

Moonfire has been the easiest collection I’ve ever had to capture on film. Every piece of ethically sourced Moonstone and Sunstone I’ve collected, after months and months of searching, is filled with incredible rainbows and confetti sparkles that shimmer and dance in sunlight and moonlight alike. Sometimes it can be difficult to capture the true colour, shine or setting details of a piece on camera, but gems like these need no guidance. It’s almost hard to believe they’re natural, until you remember what extraordinary beauty our Earth is so easily capable of creating.

Here are a few more designs that will be part of Moonfire this Sunday. As with every Gem & Tonik piece, each has been crafted entirely by hand, hammer and fire in my studio, over hours upon hours of careful and intentional work. If you’d like to see individual videos, details and prices for every piece that will be available in the collection, you can journey through my “Moonfire” highlights to see whether something calls to you.

I also thought I’d include a little video towards the end of this post to show how I take photos with a black background. I’ve been asked before whether my photos are AI, so I thought it would be nice to put out a gentle reminder that photography, like every other facet of this business, is done slowly by little ol’ me. Though Delilah does like to inspect and approve every flower I pluck from my garden to use as photography props. I hope these pieces can bring some sparkle to your Friday. 🤗💕

A few more Moonfire creations, soaking up both moonlight and sunlight this week as they prepare for their upcoming debut. The Moonfire collection will be available from 7pm AEST this Sunday, the 10th of May, and will include 25 hand-fabricated rings, pendants and earrings, each inspired by the beauty and magic of our Sun and Moon. Using ethically sourced Moonstone from Madagascar, Sri Lanka and India, and sparkling Sunstone from Sweden and Norway, each jewel will be a complete one of a kind. From single-stone pieces to designs with multiple gems and extra details, each treasure is a love letter to our incredible sky and the legends we’ve attached to it through time. ☀️🌙

I’ve just finished polishing the final pieces for the release, and will be photographing, colour-correcting and preparing everything for the website over the coming days in preparation for Sunday. I’ve tried to create as many different ring sizes as I could, as well as experimenting with settings, detail and stone configurations to make Moonfire something truly special.

If you’d like to see videos, details and prices of each piece that will be part of the collection, you can journey through my “Moonfire” highlights, check your emails (or spam folder) from last week if you’re a G&T VIP, or continue to tune into my stories over the next couple of days. I still have 8 remaining pieces I haven’t yet shared, and I can’t wait to give them, and Moonfire in full, some airtime. May these creations bring a little magic to your day, and I’d love to know if there’s one in particular that’s your favourite. 🤗💕

I haven’t been posting on my feed much lately, but behind the scenes I’ve been a busy little bee, working on Moonfire at every chance I get in between life and any orders that come through. Here are just a few of the pieces I’ve finished for the collection so far, each featuring an incredible Moonstone or Sunstone (or sometimes both), to represent the beauty, magic and power of the Sun and Moon. 🌙🔥☀️

The collection will be available from 7pm AEST on Sunday the 10th of May, and will comprise at least 23 rings, pendants and pairs of earrings. Every single design will be hand-fabricated from start to finish in my home studio, using ethically sourced gems and recycled precious metals like sterling silver, fine silver and the occasional golden, celestial accent made from jeweller’s brass. Each piece will be the only one of its kind in the entire universe, which is something pretty special: a tiny capture of the sky at a given moment, to adorn your fingers, neck or ears.

Mostly, I’ve been sharing my Moonfire progress in my stories each day, so you can wander over there at any time if you’d like to see what’s currently on my workbench. You can also flick through my Moonfire highlights to see videos, details and prices of every piece I’ve finished so far for the collection. It’s a nice way to get to know what’s coming, have time to save up, or just spend a minute soaking up some sparkle.

I have so many things I want to do between now and the 10th, including creating more designs, sharing a few more behind-the-scenes snippets, and talking about some of my favourite legends about the Sun and the Moon through time. Alas, I often bite off more than I can chew when it comes to collections and social media plans, but I’ll do my best to show up a little more. For now, I hope these pieces can bring some magic to your days and nights. If you have a favourite Moonfire piece so far, or any questions about the collection, I’d love to hear it. 🤗💕

A blackened night, with golden shimmers of the moon and stars.
Still more work to be done before they’re ready for their gems.

It’s been almost a month since I shared a post on socials. There’s been a lot going on behind the scenes (and in the world outside, of course), but I’m putting my business hat on to share something important about Gem & Tonik.

I hope your week is treating you kindly. 🤗♥️

31/12/2025

On the last morning of 2025, I’ve been sitting with my coffee in my studio for a while, reflecting on what has probably been the most difficult year of my life so far. There have been challenges I’ve spoken about openly, like adjusting my Gem & Tonik with the rising cost of living, navigating the vulnerability of running a one-woman business, managing my very unorganised finances, and dealing with the shock of break-ins to both my home and car.

Alongside that, there have been heavier things carried more privately. Moments where creativity had to coexist with care, where showing up for others and for my work took more energy than usual, and where life asked more of me than I felt ready for. Some of these stories are still unfolding, and some stories I’m not yet ready to tell, but they are roads I am still walking.

With the hard, there has also been beautiful. The last twelve months have given me some incredibly meaningful moments and achievements. I’m listing a few here, if only so future Elle can come back to this post with pride:

• After putting off taxes for five years, I finally caught up on my tax returns.
• I sold or donated a large amount of things I owned, which felt deeply cleansing and marked a new beginning.
• I got approved for a home loan, something I never thought would be possible on a small business income.
• I bought and moved into a home for myself and Delilah, bidding at auction despite being utterly terrified.
• I released two themed G&T collections, alongside several smaller drops and a large Choose Your Stone update.
• I brought my work to 10 markets around Melbourne, one of which moved me to tears on the drive home.
• I sold 412 handmade creations, from delicate made-to-order stackers to detailed multi-stone designs.
• I re-branded Gem & Tonik to better reflect the work I’ve been creating these past few years.
• I learnt more about coding to improve my website.
• I mostly showed up on socials, despite imposter syndrome and creative blocks.
• I strengthened beautiful connections with the people I love.

If your year has been anything like mine, a mix of ache and awe, I’m holding space for you. May 2026 meet us with softer mornings, steadier ground, and moments that remind us why we keep going. 🤗💕ed

A little throwback to some past pieces I made over a year ago. All of these babes are part of the Gem & Tonik Boxing Day Sale, but I’ve also reduced their prices even further. ✨

When you use the code G&TBOXINGDAY at checkout, each one of these little darlings ends up being between 36% and 47% off. It might honestly be the biggest discount I’ve ever offered in the history of this small business.

I’ve got my eye on so many beautiful new gems that I’m hoping to bring into the studio over the next few weeks, and this sale will help go towards that gem budget, as well as supporting Gem & Tonik while I plan and work on my next themed collection. I’m quietly dreaming that 2026 will be a year full of creative passion projects, new challenges, and plenty more magic-making at the bench. 💎🔨

The G&T Boxing Day Sale is now live on my website, with 25% off over 60 hand-forged creations, including all of these already reduced designs. The sale runs until midnight on New Year’s Eve. As such a small, one-woman business, I rarely offer sales outside of this time of year, so if you’ve been drawn to something handmade using ethical practices and recycled precious metals, perhaps there’s a piece here waiting for you.

I hope this soft, in-between week between Christmas and New Year is treating you kindly. 🤗💕
