Gems zine Gems is a Naarm/Melbourne-based collective that makes creative opportunities for women & non-binary people.

Gems is co-run by three pals Anna MacNeill, Freya Alexander & Tegan Iversen. We self-produce Gems zine tri-annually & fill the pages with art & writing by women & non-binary people based in Australia & worldwide. In addition to our zine, we curate art exhibitions, run markets & hold workshops. Our work encourages the creativity & talent of women & non-binary people. We strive to create a platform

Sharing a call out for a (paid) writing opportunity!

‘The Map of Lost Places’ is a forthcoming Melbourne-centric writing/social mapping project facilitated by Lisa D’Onofrio & Simmone Howell, supported by the City of Melbourne. They are seeking submissions of short/experimental memoir from women & non-binary folk about their experiences of places of leisure in the city that no longer exist. The aim is to curate a zine, map & public walk during the Emerging Writers Festival. Submissions are due April 30
