SARAH & SEBASTIAN is an ever-evolving fine jewellery studio by Sarah Gittoes and Robert Sebastian Grynkofki, designers who live and work in Sydney, Australia. In the pursuit of conceptual design and innovative craftsmanship, SARAH & SEBASTIAN create seasonal collections, referencing art, Australian landscapes and the ocean, which is a driving force for the label’s social and environmental values.

Introducing our new Chadstone home.

An oyster builds its shell in layers, closing around a foreign grain until the pearl is created. Chadstone is built the same way. Sand-cast glass panels are staggered across the facade to create depth, their edges left rough cut and flamed rather than polished.

The centre piece that anchors the design intention is a custom terrazzo Weedy Seadragon set into the floor; hand drawn by Sarah Gittoes. The Weedy Seadragon is the marine emblem of Victoria and a species found only in southern Australian waters.

“Overall, the store is conceived as a sculptural, tactile and immersive environment, where raw brutalist structure meets the fluid qualities of molten metal, sand and shimmering glass” - Richards Stanisich co- founder and director, Kristen Stanisich.

The build draws on upcycled and locally sourced material, including discarded oyster shells sourced from local Melbourne restaurants.
