Here's the colourful snaps from last year's Pride Art Festival Opening Night- captured by 📸

Monisha and I pour hours and hours (and hours) into organising this fabulous exhibition ~ We try to create a space that is welcoming and inclusive for everyone in the q***r creative community, so it's heartwarming to see all parts of the community coming together to celebrate each other!

Congrats again to last year's award winners , & Katie🏅

This year we've been cooking up another storm (though let's manifest sunshine) with the exhibition once again reaching capacity there are going to be a range of incredible works you won't want to miss!

Install starts on Monday with the exhibition opening to the public from Wednesday and of course... Opening Night Friday the 5th! 🪩🕺🏻🎶
We have the fab .fancyy & performing for us along with FREE bubble tea donated by 🧋+ catering thanks to my mum 😌

My face on the big screen!? 🎥

Thank you Wollongong Youth Services for this wonderful opportunity. Last year during Rainbow League a group of us filmed a few different short films with Geoff Platts from Big Word Video. It was such a fun experience where we were able to tell our stories in a serious way or in a... less serious way 🦇🧛🐦‍⬛ They were filmed for fun but some of the works were also submitted for the Creative Wollongong Short Film Competition and Festival!

"Burning In The Limelight" is a mockumentary short film about a vampire late night talkshow host who faces backlash for comments made during his regular program 'Early Mornings with Lazlo'.

Congratulations to everyone involved, it was really wonderful watching all the short films and hearing from some of the other creatives at the end of the evening. Such a fun night on the red carpet at Gala Twin Cinemas and thanks to for MCing and bringing the vibes!🌟🎤

🏳️‍🌈 If this is you, please submit entries via our email to [email protected], subject title: ‘EOI PRIDE’.

🏳️‍⚧️ Entry is $50 or $40 for under 24 (must show a valid photo ID)
✨ Must be a member, $40 p/y. Applicants can become a member upon submitting their entry.

🌈 To apply, please send us the following:
•Your name, age, pronouns
•Artwork medium, number of works exhibiting and dimensions
•Images of your proposed works (optional)
•Installation Requirements

I'm definitely feeling some FOMO as the cherry blossoms are blooming again this year, but I get to relive it a little by looking at these photos 🌸🥰

Hello everyone! As we settle into the new year and we get the ball rolling again I wanted to pop on and say hi! 👋🏻

I wanted to jump on to let you know that and I will indeed be running the Pride Art Festival once again in 2026- and this year will be our 5th year if you can believe it!?!??!! It may be over 4 months away but plans are already in motion to bring you all another q***r celebration to remember!

So, save the dates: June 1st - June 14th!

Hello friends & community 👋🏻

This Sunday is the amazing Trans and Friends Festival Illawarra run by at UOW!!

I have made the difficult decision to not attend as a stall holder this year due to burnout and overwhelm 💔 I have had such a wonderful wonderful time the past three years, meeting everyone and watching as my stall somehow gets even brighter and more colourful! 🩷🩵

This was really a hard choice for me to make as it is my busiest market of the year however, I really wanted to prioritise actually enjoying the festival as a patron! I wanted the chance to sit on the duck pond lawn and watch the performances, walk around the stalls & talk to everyone and get some delicious food without needing to stop between every bite to say hi to people at my stall. Don't get me wrong though, I do love being busy and meeting all you amazing people I just know that I can also do that at other times. And I deserve to enjoy the Festival as a community member for the first time 🫶🏻✨

Please come up to me and say hi if you see me walking around! (Don't forget I have bad eyesight so I might not see you right away!) You may also see me taking photos and filming things for the ISGA Instagram 📸

My next market will instead be on December 6th at Project Contemporary Artspace

SNAP FUNDRAISER 🚨🌈

Our beautiful friend has had their visa denied and we are holding a snap event to raise money to help them use a different pathway to stay in the country.

📅 When: Next Thursday, October 30th, 10:30-6:30pm
📍 Where: DM for the address, it is in the Wollongong area
❓ What to expect: Live Music, Stalls, Crafts & Community

🚨🎨 I am doing a community call out!
Do you have something to donate?
We are accepting art, clothes, plants, jewellery- anything that we can sell during the day on our stories and/or things that would make good raffle prizes such as a skill or service you may provide. This could be a class you run, lawn mowing, hair cuts- anything!

If you have something you can donate please contact me to arrange a pick up or drop off time.

🪙 Entry to the event is $2 which includes the price of one raffle ticket.

Please share within your circles to help keep our lovely friend in the country. Comments and story reshares are greatly appreciated if you can't attend or donate 🫶🏻

You can catch some of my artworks this week at Project Contemporary Artspace for their annual Youth Exhibition! ⭐

I'm always grateful to be given these amazing opportunities and it's so wonderful to see all the incredible artworks that young emerging artists have to share 💜

Next year I will be turning 25 which means a lot of doors will be closing for me but the connections and community I made will stick around and help lead me to even more opportunities. It's something I'm anxious about but with places like Project Contemporary Artspace and Wollongong Youth Services giving me so many different experiences and training I (mostly 👀) feel ready to take on my next big challenges!

For now I'm still 24 so I'm going to enjoy the rest of the year and focus on all the wonderful moments that come along 😁💜
