Got this Ember Watch Company Concept Design in a trade with my good watch friend Euan from Laneway Watch Co.

What did I trade it for? One of our own Sidus Austris Watches Outriders when it’s produced. 😊

Was having lunch with Euan Walker and mark.johnson.watches after the Time+Tide FounderFest the other day and I was interested in this. Euan made the offer, we shook hands and the deal was done. 🤝

I was always interested in the Ember Rocket but never got around to buying one, so this little special edition from them was hard to resist.

Two skin divers with some of my favourite vintage aesthetics.

Imperial Watch Co. × Brent Robillard Iron Tide, with that beautiful blue dial and hint of orange, looks perfect in its 37mm case. Paired with the grey suede, it’s such a fun watch to wear.

Galo Watches Super 200 Black Edition paired with the stock BOR keeps those original vintage aesthetics at 39mm. My first BOR bracelet, and the one that made me love them.

Two very different personalities, but both unmistakably joyful on the wrist.

Wearing the Seiko SBDC141 today on the OEM bracelet.

It’s the chunkiest watch in my collection. I love smaller watches these days, but somehow this is still an absolute delight to wear.

Old watch. New strap.

The Seiko Style 60s is one of my favourites and one that will never leave the collection.

Trying it today on this new Saffiano leather strap as part of testing strap samples for our upcoming Sidus Austris Watches Outrider.

So far, it’s proven to be comfortable on the wrist and looks pretty good too. But the real test is how it holds up over time, how it breaks in, develops with wear, handles sweat and moisture, and how the leather, stitching and edges hold up with regular use.

So I’ll be wearing this one quite a bit over the next few months. Let’s see how it goes.

Designed in collaboration with Brent Robillard and limited to just 25 pieces.

I’ve liked the whole Rangefinder series since I first saw them. I’m a sucker for vintage styling and proportions, so these were right up my alley. The Iron Tide was the one that spoke to me most though. That pop of orange on the minute hand against the blue dial, paired with the steel-coloured bezel, did it for me.

At 38mm, it wears like a charm on my 6.5" wrist. The oversized signed crown is a delight, and the fully brushed 5-link bracelet is really comfortable on the wrist.

Very happy to have managed to grab one of the 25. 😊
