Launching a small business with heart - a social responsibility
Beautifully Brave was launched in 2022 and retails gorgeous jewelry made by women now free of sexual exploitation and trafficking, predominately from within Asia.
The decision to start a small business involves overcoming many small hurdles. Deciding on a niche, locating reliable potential suppliers, spending hours upon hours investing time and research into everything from marketing, company structure, licenses and permits. Then there are technical challenges to overcome from launching a website and managing social media, to eventually making a sale.
We wanted our small business to have a social impact, so spent lots of time putting thought into how a sale could result in social support. What if a single sale could also impact someone's life and support current and future efforts in supporting women to break free from sexual exploitation and trafficking?
With that social mission in mind, Beautifully Brave has been born, purchasing stock from wholesale members from the Fair Trade Federation that support social causes that improve our world.
