AfriBeads http://www.afribeads.com.au sells recycled paper bead jewellery and home wares and other gifts handmade by women artisans from Uganda.

AfriBeads are hand-made by paper by a group of 20 Ugandan women in Kampala, Uganda called the AfriBeads Womenโ€™s Association. This group is working to protect vulnerable families who canโ€™t afford to send their children to school and struggle with basic necessities. Many millions of people live in extreme poverty in Africa, struggling to survive and look after their children. AfriBeads create hope for Ugandan women and children by providing a market for the beautiful jewellery they make. With economic self sufficiency they can take control of their own lives. The women are each paid in advance for the products they make, and profits from sale of the beads will be used for the project in consultation with the women.
