Get • Today is a landmark day, Having the last CT Scan on the inids to make dubbly sure we are free and clear of the big C, 5 years on and feeling pretty dam good it’s fair to say, hence the change in citizenship for this once proud kiwi. Aussie saved my life and I owe her a debt of grattitude 💯.

I worked closely with from to create a time piece commemorate both these occasions and he knocked it out of the park.

These are the reasons why I am working on different types & styles all the time. Every one I make builds the base.
From assembly, hand laid nickel logos or to the laser engraving, it’s me doing the work.

Today’s piece is a 2824 type movement and is inspired by what is my favourite watch. Haven’t taken it off a 2 weeks so I think it’s the best one yet. ( the next one I build will be better though whether it is for me or you)

So I have never talked about what does it actually take to assemble a watch to spec of a customer fit for purpose. It’s a one of one with meaning that every time the owner looks at it, it reminds them of a special day on their life.

Designed brief -
-Watch had to be colours matching the customers Cervelo road bike. It also had to carry the “FWR logo” on the dial.

- Logo. Cut from a sheet of 0.8mm Sterling Silver, then hand lapped down to clear the hands. Test cuts from brass and on an old dial first to make sure it looked correct. Back and forward to make sure we are both happy with sizing and positions. Having never made anything in silver, this it’s a learning curve for me!

-Back case, the customer wanted the watch ready for his naturalisation ceremony. As a little surprise I added the coat of arms and ceremony date 🥳

Outcome- one very happy new Aussie owner. 😊

Working in another bespoke piece, couldn’t get a dial we were happy with, so making one instead.
