I love creating all jewellery. But if I have to choose a favourite piece to craft, I choose 3-stone rings. I love setting them. 💍

There’s an art in fitting three stones together so there is no gap between them — no visible metal splitting one stone from the next.

Done right, when you look down at the ring from above, the three stones read as one continuous shape. That seamless effect takes precision — every angle has to be exact, or the illusion falls apart.

The skill it takes to pull off, and the finished look, make 3-stone rings one of my favourite pieces to create.

Finishing up a final polish on this repair so it’s shiny and new again.

The client asked for this wedding set to be soldered together so they would never be out of line.

I love returning pieces prettier than the day they were first put on.

Custom pendant out of the workshop this week.

The client cut, shaped and polished the which I set into a gorgeous pendant for his granddaughter. I kept the metal to a minimum to let the opal shine, and boy do those blues pop!

The bail is engraved with his granddaughter’s nickname, so it’s more than a pendant — it’s a way to keep grandad close to her heart. Literally.

Grateful to make pieces that carry this kind of meaning. 💙

So much going on in the workshop we’re a bit behind keeping you updated.

Enjoy a little comic relief while we work on some real jewellery clips for you. These green Prase stones come from the Pilbara region of Western Australia and are going in a dainty flex bracelet that will be perfect for stacking. Stay tuned!

Your ring doesn’t always need a full rebuild — sometimes it just needs a little reinforcement.

Retipping prongs is one of the most cost-effective ways to give a worn ring a new lease on life. Instead of pulling everything apart and resetting the stones, a skilled jeweller can rebuild just the tips — the small but mighty points that hold your stone in place — without disturbing anything else.

And yes, your diamond can handle it. Diamonds are tough enough to withstand the heat of the process, making retipping a straightforward fix for most diamond rings.

That said, it’s not a one-size-fits-all solution. Larger or more fragile stones need a different approach — but for the right ring, retipping can add years to its life.

If your prongs are looking thin, worn, or catching on fabric, that’s your ring asking for attention. Don’t wait until a stone works loose.

I repaired Kerry’s cracked wedding band. It had split along a previous repair line, so I added a dovetail cut to give the seam strength. After a thorough polish and shaping the ring back to round, it’s ready for daily life again.

Part 1 of creating the signet ring.

I had a piece of locally sourced bloodstone leftover from my pendant and I like the deep greens and reds throughout the stone. I thought I’d make a matching statement piece.

I shaped the bloodstone into a square radiant cut stone. Hours of work at the wheel - cutting, polishing, engraving.

Worth it. It’s going to look awesome.

It will go on my signet ring that is in the previous wax carving video.
