The individual for whom we crafted this watch is an ardent fan of Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan. They are about to welcome their first daughter into the world, experiencing a whirlwind of emotions-anxiety, joy, excitement, and apprehension all wrapped into one. We know that when parents hold their newborn for the first time, all fears and worries dissolve instantly.
This reminded me of the time in Delhi and Bombay, where I spent a month. I had an opportunity to visit the shrine of Sufi saint Nizamuddin Awliyah. Amir Khusrow, the renowned musician, poet, and philosopher who was a contemporary of Awliyah, was entranced by him.
Khusrow composed a famous qawwali that has resonated with people for 800 years, expressing how the marks on his forehead from prayers or “tilak” on his forehead was erased the moment he met Nizamuddin.
We hope, just as Khusrow experienced that transformation, so too will the parents find that their fears and anxieties about their firstborn will vanish when they hold her for the first time. Congratulations from all of us at Bangladeshi Watch Maker!
