Original caption: When you commission something truly custom, you're giving an idea the time and the space to become something entirely new.

From the first sketch, every line, proportion, curve and gemstone is considered specifically for you. There is no assembly line and no shelf to pull it from.

This engagement ring began as a blank page and a pencil. An idea that started with imagination, forged with creativity, resulting in something tangible and unforgettable.

That is the beauty of handmade. The time isn't just part of the process. The time is part of the piece.

A natural Ametrine (Bolivinaite) from Bolivia sits at the center, bringing together the golden warmth of citrine and the cool violet of amethyst, also described as:

The meeting of the sun and moon over the Andes.

The sterling silver setting pays homage to another of Bolivia's great geological treasures: its legendary silver deposits.

From the side, the setting forms a protective crown, while from the top the silver opens into a radiant sunburst.

A piece created to hold not only a remarkable gemstone, but a little piece of Bolivia's landscape, history and my clients personal story. 💜💛

Have you ever wondered what happens before a jewellery design comes to life?

For each custom piece, I create concept illustrations to explore different ideas and possibilities with my client.

We look at a few options together, refine the direction and once we've chosen the design, I will then move forward with the final rendering in pencil crayons.

This illustration was created for a custom piece featuring my clients Bolivinaite (or some may know it as Ametrine). A stone with such a beautiful story behind it.
