Update on the theft while at Goderich Celtic Roots Festival and College. Today, while I was setup at the Kincardine Market In The Park, a nice lady stopped by holding a box with my logo on it. I recognized it immediately as the box which held my stolen gold chain. She opened the box to show me the earrings which had been stolen and when I asked about the arm cuff, she produced it from her purse. She is friends with the woman who stole the items, who is seeking the help she needs overcoming a troubled past. The one who returned my items today has been trekking across Southwestern Ontario on a mission to return all the items her friend stole that day. It is as I thought — the woman who stole from me is in need of love and not anger. It goes to show that we cannot judge one’s character on their deeds alone. We have no way of knowing each other’s internal struggles. Patience and love win over anger and hatred every time. I run my business following my family motto: Suáilce agus Gaois (Virtue and Wisdom). I feel that I put this into practice with this recent episode. In everything, choose happiness over grief — choose hope over despair.

I wish to express my gratitude to all the event staff and volunteers at the Goderich Celtic Roots Festival and College for an amazing show. Their response to hearing the news that I had been robbed at the event was quick and reassuring. At the festival, I remember one of the MCs talking about starving artists and encouraging people to buy their merchandise at the merch tent. There is also the concept of starving artisans who pour their hearts and souls into their craft. To a thief, it does not matter that when they steal from an artisan at one of these shows, they are literally making it harder for that artisan to get by. While I am flattered that they liked my designs and work, it would have been better had they purchased the items they stole. I choose not be angry, as I cannot change what has happened. It's done. Little did the thief know, I captured the incident on my security camera. I harbour no ill-will towards her, but I do hope that somehow she will get the help she needs to overcome whatever it is that brought her to commit such a brazen act. Let's all hope she receives the healing she needs. Let's choose love over hate, especially to those who do us harm.

Tá lúcháir orm a fhógairt go mbeidh mo dara halbam, Ainmneacha Iomadúla an Ghrá (The Many Names of Love), á eisiúint ar an 3 Lúnasa ar gach mór-ardán sruthaithe!

Is bailiúchán é de scéalta faoin ngrá ina iliomad cruthanna – grá gan fháil, grá caillte, cairdeas, teaghlach, dílseacht, agus dóchas – iad uile fite fuaite le miotal Ceilteach, ceol traidisiúnta na hÉireann, agus liricí Gaeilge.

Beidh vinil agus CD ar fáil freisin, agus fógróidh mé na dátaí eisiúna dóibh go luath.

So grateful to those who rushed to my assistance when a super cell touched down while I was packing up following the Embro Highland Games on Canada Day this past Wednesday. My canopy frame was destroyed. I was caught by one of the legs and it lifted me in the air and I was stuck as the wind kept trying to lift me up. Thanks to the two strangers who rushed to my assistance. Also a big thank you goes out to Kincardine Scottish Festival & Highland Games for lending me one of their canopies, so I could still setup for the festival while waiting for my new canopy to arrive. It’s one of the many risks as vendors we take doing outdoor events. It could have been so much worse. If you’re in Kincardine, be sure to stop by the festival and say hello. Thank you to all who have wished me well and a speedy recovery.

Just got four bags of delicious shortbread from Sheena's Scottish Shortbread at the Kingsville Highland Games. In the area? Why not stop in for some Scottish culture and be sure to visit the many wonderful vendors here.
