What’s the difference between alligator and crocodile skin ⁉️

Some people think exotic skins are used only for leather, which isn’t true. The meat is also consumed as part of the farming industry.

The easiest way to identify crocodile skin is by the tiny dots found near the edge of each scale, called follicle pores. Crocodile scales also tend to have a slightly more pronounced texture compared to alligator.

The internet often says alligator scales are more symmetrical, but honestly, that has not really been our experience.

For years we mainly focused on alligator because it was more accessible, but we finally partnered with a great Japanese tannery producing exceptional crocodile leather. We’re excited to introduce crocodile to our current lineup with 10 new colors.

How to Attach a Watch Strap

Using the Bergeon 6767 Spring Bar Tool

1. Find a soft, clean surface to protect the watch from scratches.

2. Install the spring bars into the new strap. Always work from the back side of the watch whenever possible, so any accidental marks stay hidden underneath.

3. Insert one end of the spring bar into the lug hole. Using the tool, compress the opposite side of the spring bar and gently guide it between the lugs. Release only once the spring bar is fully seated inside the lug hole.

4. Repeat the process for the other side of the strap.

5. Install the buckle using the same method: insert the buckle tang first, slide the spring bar through, compress one side with the tool, and release once securely seated.

Every cardholder is entirely handcrafted from start to finish using traditional French leatherworking techniques, then fully hand stitched by professionals in North America.

Some pieces feature hand painted serpents, transforming each cardholder into a miniature work of art. No two are ever exactly alike. Every detail is done by hand, slowly and carefully, because true craftsmanship should feel personal.
