October Bonus Square – Threads of Colour – a Year in Blanket Squares

This is the last bonus square of the blanket project. After this post there are only two squares and two fancies remaining! It is hard to believe that we are so close to the end of the project. I had a lot of fun with this square! My grandmother is from Belfast. She came to Canada in 1921 or 1922. She came over with her young son (my father's big brother) and her sister, to start a new life in Canada....

Playing Hooky – When Inspiration Leads You Astray

What do you get when you combine a chance comment on an old piece of knitting. Once a swatch, now a small kerchief (swatches, especially lace one, used to be quite large). Plus an unexpected find - later that same day - of three skeins of Rasta... You get an opportunity to play hooky! I wear this little kerchief quite a bit....

It's official! In September 2027, I'll be heading to Alaska aboard the Discovery Princess for a very special knitting cruise - Dancing Lights: Alaska 2027. Bonus Block – a Year of Colour

August Blooms I am really missing my garden. And it is not that I am a serious gardener. I just plant and pray that things will grow. But I am a serious lover of gardens and enjoy them wholeheartedly. Crafting Exquisite Beaded Knits: Tips and Inspiration

I love working with beads in my knitting. I try to add them to lace knitting at every opportunity. These are a few of my favourite pieces. They each have a story.
