When I first moved to Canada three years ago, I had over 1,000 digital paintings just sitting on my laptop. I had never printed my work, let alone displayed it.

Last year, that changed—I had my very first art market show, and the love I received was overwhelming. I remember telling myself, “This is what you’ve been missing all these years.”

Beyond sharing my art, I knew I wanted to be part of something bigger—to connect with the Black community in Ottawa and showcase our talents together. That’s exactly what gave me. A space to meet other Black artists, celebrate each other, and feel that deep sense of belonging.

Now, many people know about dicedartwork—a dream that has quickly turned into reality. That connection with the audience, the joy and the energy from that event… it’s a memory I’ll hold onto forever.
