Embracing.
She’s showing her age, all the things- grey hairs, laugh lines, forehead wrinkles, crows feet and more.
Gratitude.
Grateful for the laugh lines and crows feet that marks the deep belly laughs she’s shared, she’s laughed so much in this lifetime already that it’s left an imprint on her body, heart and soul.
For the forehead wrinkles- she’s animated- when she talks, even without words she communicates, the silly faces she’s made with her kiddo and nieces, family, friends and sometimes even strangers.
For grey hair- as it means she still has hair. The longest she’s had in years.
For the moments of “remember when’s” as it means she’s lived a life of stories that have become memories worth sharing and reflecting on.
Privilege.
Not everyone gets the chance to see the days of grey hair, wrinkles and laugh lines.
Embracing this privilege with gratitude.
Embracing this chapter that’s waiting for more stories to be written for memories to be shared when I’m even older.
Grateful for every wrinkle, stretch mark, and laugh line.
Embracing the privilege of aging. In all of its beauty.
We are taught wrinkles are bad, they make us look old and there’s a desire created for us to want to hold on to our youth and look younger etc. but what a privilege to live a life long enough to earn these marks.
Embrace your beauty in whatever chapter you’re in.
Take the selfie.
See yourself in your own light.
Share the stories you’ve lived.
Love yourself where you’re at.
Because babe, you’ve earned it.
You’re worthy where you are. As you are. Always.
