Taanishi, it has been awhile since I have posted and I feel that it is time to re-engage with everyone. Recently, life has been challenging, and managing my health, career, and business has been a complex juggling act that I find myself fumbling.
Because I feel it is my duty to be upfront and transparent as a mental health advocate, I can say without hesitation that things have been difficult recently. I have detailed this in many posts, but for those who are new here, I live with complex psychiatric conditions, including Bipolar Affective Disorder - Type 1, Schizoaffective Disorder, C-PTSD, Generalized Anxiety Disorder, and ADHD. Due to a current lack of psychiatric care available in my province, I have been without a psychiatrist for nearly 2 years, which has never before been the case in my adult life. Despite vehemently advocating for myself, and having referrals from multiple medical practitioners, I have not had access to psychiatric care outside of an emergency room and I am presently struggling.
Beyond that, I am currently in a serious transitional phase in my career and am trying to adapt as best as I can, even in the face of external environmental stressors exacerbating my conditions.
I continue to diligently work away at orders whenever I have the capacity to, and am remaining steadfast in the restructuring of my business. Customer satisfaction is a priority of mine, and having long wait times on outstanding orders has caused me considerable stress, anxiety, and acute psychiatric strain. This was never my intention and it is why I closed my order books some time ago. In the future, I will only be selling pre-made items. I am hoping to have all orders completed within the next few months. Following that, I will continue to endeavor to provide beautiful beadwork to my community, within the capacity limits my health dictates.
At present, I would like to personally acknowledge and express my gratitude towards my customers who have treated me with dignity, compassion, and grace during this difficult time. It is amazing how much support I feel from my customer base through the loyalty and kindness they extend to me.
I have delivered jewelry to over 800 customers in less than 3 years, and I do think that is a testament to my commitment to this cultural art form. I have always wanted to provide something unique and meaningful to my customer base, but I can no longer do it to the point of my own detriment. It is unlikely I will post much over the next few months, but I will eventually be back with lots of new items to purchase. In the meantime, know that I am working hard on orders and am excited to get your jewelry to you π«Ά maarsii and I'll talk to you all soon.
