We’ve been missing our Charlie girl — our sweet lab we lost to cancer in May. She spent lots of her life hiking mountains with us, so this tribute became Charlie’s Trail. It just fits her.

Paul cut and shaped the Howlite mountains at the bench and mounted them into a concho‑style attachment for Archer’s new leather collar I made. Archer’s our other old hound dog, and seeing him wear it felt like a quiet honour to her — like she’s still here in the shop with us. 🤍

A repeat customer came to me with an idea for a leather cuff‑style bracelet, and it stuck with me.

I started by looking at leather bracelet options that I could attach one of my turquoise‑style conchos to, but I couldn’t get past the idea of metal rubbing against the wrist.

So I asked myself how hard it could be to build my own version — something layered, comfortable, and clean, with the screws hidden inside the structure instead of sitting against the skin. That question turned into a few evenings of YouTube dives, gathering basic supplies, and doing test runs without turquoise just to understand how the leather wanted to behave.

Once the shape made sense, we moved on to the real piece. Paul cut this American turquoise cab into a smooth oval, and I set it in a fine silver bezel on a nickel silver backplate. We anchored it between the bracelet layers so the stone sits securely without touching the wrist, and lined the inside with a pop of turquoise that gives the whole piece a quiet brightness.

It’s satisfying when a customer’s idea pushes me into new territory. This cuff did exactly that — slow work, steady hands, and a piece I’m proud of.

Next up: a White Buffalo statement ring and a keychain we’re up‑cycling into a sentimental keepsake.
