there is a particular kind of person who watches a period drama and doesn’t see costumes. they see references. the ring on the countess’s hand in episode three. the mourning brooch that tells you everything about a character before she speaks a single word.

i know you. you’ve been collecting these images somewhere, a folder or a corner of your mind, for longer than you can remember. what you want isn’t a costume piece. it isn’t a replica. it’s the feeling: the weight of something that looks like it has a history, like it was made slowly and with intention, like it was always meant to outlast the person wearing it.

with the smaller diamonds from a client’s heirloom cluster ring, we redesigned a new heirloom for her daughter centred around a large blue topaz.

there is something genuinely thrilling about building something new out of what already exists: a ring with history, a stone that’s been sitting in someone’s drawer for ten years, a conversation, a reference image, a feeling… and ending up somewhere completely new.

a piece that carries a person’s taste so specifically that it could only ever belong to them. no two the same. that’s not a limitation of my practice, it’s the whole point of it.

2026 has been a lot of things so far.

beautiful work that made me emotional. clients who trusted me with one of the most important pieces of jewellery they’ll ever own. sketches that never saw the light of day. gemstones that took my breath away the moment i saw them. a son who wanted to make jewellery with me on a tuesday afternoon. a cat who now has his own instagram. a husband who shows up for date day every single week without fail.

this is what running a small custom jewellery brand actually looks like. the finished pieces and the false starts. the proposal photos and the algorithm confusion. the workbench at 9am and the face mask at 9pm.

i started elizabeth blythe because i believe that the ring you wear every day for the rest of your life should be as unique as the love story behind it. i still believe that. more than ever, actually.

the long way around is still the way.

from beaded bracelets delivered by bike to bespoke engagement rings designed from a little home studio: this journey has been anything but linear, and i wouldn’t change a single detour.

a politics degree, a modelling career, cold calling jewellers and offering to clean their floors just for the chance to learn… every unexpected chapter led me exactly here.

almost twelve years of building elizabeth blythe. a husband who believed in the dream before it had a name. a son who made me finally bet on myself completely.

if you’re somewhere in the middle of your own winding path right now, i hope this reminds you that the pieces don’t have to make sense yet. they will.
