Sorry for the delay — I’ve been fully on island time the past week, soaking up some much-needed family time over spring break 🤍

elle + sons is currently taking a short pause while I’m away.
The online shop is temporarily closed until I’m back in the first week of April

If you’ve ever wondered why my pieces last, shine, and actually hold up to real life… the answer is in the materials.

Gold-filled is one of the most misunderstood materials in the jewelry world — and sadly, one of the most mislabelled. As a bench jeweller, I see so many customers come to me heartbroken because they thought they bought “gold-filled”… but it was plated. 🥲

Honestly, most people who sell “gold-filled” that buy/resell, or those who assemble premade components on a chain, are completely unaware of the structure of the components. It truly isn’t until you start physically manipulating a metal that you truly understand its composition. So it isn’t necessarily THEIR fault, they didn’t understand it wasn’t gold-filled either 🤷🏼‍♀️

If you’re ever unsure — ask me! (Or any other bench jeweller). I want you to feel confident in what you’re buying, whether it’s from me or anywhere else. 💛✨
