I’ve never nailed a pour-over with drip coffee bags… until today.
Got my hands on BACHA’s Sidamo Mountain drip bag,
and immediately grabbed my Lily Dripper—no second thoughts.
Tore open the bag, emptied the grounds into the dripper,
12g of coffee paired perfectly with 3 pours from my WFA56 (≈180ml total).
Kettle on, the flow was a touch slow, total brew time around 2 mins 45 secs (rough guess).
The grind was inconsistent, with noticeable fine particles,
but the cup was clean, with distinct Sidamo character and nice complexity (silver lining to the uneven grind!).
Didn’t pick up the expected artificial notes, so I added a pinch of vanilla seeds from a pod.
The vanilla was subtle, peeking through gently,
and it was really good.
P.S. Why do the grounds in these drip bags hold their shape so well?
