Ancient Desert
The only things I knew before I started painting were the colours: Dark Yellow, Burnt Sienna, Gold Ochre, and the rough, untreated, natural-coloured canvas.
It doesn’t mean I don’t care where this is going. Even if I don’t know the subject at first, I know what kind of texture I want to create, what mood the painting will carry, and what it will be capable of conveying.
I don’t care how long it takes me to finish, or how many more of my clothes end up covered in paint.
My deepest need guides me in every moment. To make something visible. To confront, in my own way.
“Remembering” isn’t quite the right word. Because remembering takes place in the mind. Remembering our origins and what truly matters. I think we all know that anyway.
As long as we don’t feel it, as long as we don’t let our hearts have the final say again – because the heart is always the truly wise advisor – our thoughts won’t take us very far.
Or rather, they will. They’ll take us very far indeed – just in the wrong direction.
Letting go of structures allows us to be free. Free to feel, to think, and to live and act for the benefit of all that is.
And that’s why there’s nothing more to say about Ancient Desert. 💛🧡
