“It has become my amulet of power.”
For Søren Hedegaard, the story of this amulet began by the sea.
A winter swimmer, Søren has always felt drawn to the water - its stillness, its power and its mystery. It was on a bathing jetty that he met Rebecca’s husband, Peter, and noticed the amulet around his neck.
“There was something almost archaic about it - as if it could have existed for centuries and yet felt completely contemporary.”
It stayed with him. Today, Søren carries his own Tiger Amulet.
This idea runs deeply through Rebecca’s universe - jewellery as more than decoration. Symbols carried close to the body, holding strength, protection, memories and meanings that become personal to the one wearing them.
In these portraits, Søren wears anchors, seashells and Poseidon - symbols connected to the sea - alongside flowers, animals and one-of-a-kind pieces. Together, they become something entirely his own.
“The most beautiful things we surround ourselves with don’t necessarily need an explanation. Sometimes we just need to feel that they mean something.”
Søren wears the Anchor Pendant Necklace, Poseidon Round Necklace, Seashell Signet Ring, Anchor Sign Earring, Tiger Amulet Uniquat, Nomad 3 Ring, Flower Uniquat Earring and one-of-a-kind rings by Rebecca Elbek.
