🍷 Ryan Stirm ‘Gularte Vineyard’ Pinot Noir

🍇 Pinot Noir, 2023

Ryan Stirm is one of the California “New Guard” w**emakers to keep your eye on. Fruit for this opulent Pinot comes from the northern end of Salina Valley, land of perpetual foggy mornings, windy afternoons, and east facing to avoid the harshest California sun. The grapes were hand picked, sorted in the field, then brought to the w**ery where they were prepared in two lots: one completely destemmed and the other 66% whole cluster. Pressed after a 10-day ferment, and aged in old barriques the seven months before bottling unfined and unfiltered. If all that means nothing, just know this Pinot will knock your socks off.

We’re going to miss our beloved friends - Sophie & Jonsí who are off to new adventures in Norway at the end of this month. Last weekend, they attended our No H8 in WA State fundraiser, and bought the last bottles of RAM Cellars Sparkle Pony they might enjoy for a good long while. Jonsí sent us this photo of them enjoying a rooftop moment overlooking Seattle, Sparkle Pony in hand.

Special shout out to Jonsí who has been a big help in the warehouse for the last three w**e club releases. We are going to miss you guys! 💕 Trygge reiser! 🇳🇴

🍇 Weissburgunder, aka Pinot Blanc, 2025

Judith (OO-dith) Beck is one of the “It girls” of the Austrian natural w**e scene. Her Weissburgunder fruit comes from the hills of the Wagram growing area where waves of the primeval ocean once met the shore leaving behind a mosaic of soils and minerals that gifts this w**e profound complexity. Following the hand harvest, bunches are whole-cluster-pressed. Spontaneous fermentation with native yeast in old Acacia wood casks occurs naturally. Aged on the lees for 6 months prior to bottling. Beck’s treatment of this w**e has evolved in the last couple of vintages and is now with a touch a skin contact making it a baby orange w**e. It still has lovely fruit, freshness and drinkability but just with a hint of savory, skin contact character. Biodynamically farmed.

What a joy to partner with our friend, w**emaker Viv Kennedy of Ram Cellars RAM Cellars for a special fundraiser in support of the No Hate in WA State campaign this weekend.

In Washington this November there are two insidious anti-trans initiatives on the ballot: I-001 & I-683. Please vote NO on both of them. We reached out to the No H8 in WA State campaign with the idea to do a fun w**e tasting event. Hosted at Birch Road Birch Road Clubhouses in First Hill, 30 people gathered, tasted Viv’s beautiful w**es, and learned more about the campaign and what’s at stake for the safety of trans people, as well as kids in our state. And, it was great to be about to support a trans-woman owned small w**e business in the process.

We raised about $750 and counting!

What a delicious bottle of bubbles! Though he gave it up over 30 years ago, Angiolino Maule used to run a famous pizzeria with his wife before getting the w**e bug. Since then, they’ve never turned back farming Garganega, the famed grape of Soave a refreshing still white of the Veneto region, but here presented as a sparkling w**e made by adding dry must to referment still w**e already in bottle. As the bottle suggests, “Bubbles amplify the perception of life.” Organic & Biodynamic.

🍷 Anónimas ‘Os Dunares’ Albariño Atlántico

Hecho en España, Anónimas Viticultoras is a project by two women w**emaker friends, who happen to love women. Here they make an exceptional 100% Albariño from 40-year-old vines on granitic sands, less than a mile from the Atlantic. With a 10-hour cold maceration prior to cool native yeast fermentation, followed by five months lees aging in stainless before bottling, this w**e is a salty spectacle of texture and pleasure. Enjoy with seafood of all kinds.

Anónimas Viticultoras is the project of w**emakers Cris Yagüe Cuevas and Maria Falcón. Based in Rias Baixas, where Cris has made w**e for many years, and where Maria’s family has done so for generations, they also source fruit from around Galicia. Fresh and elegant w**es. In Cris’ words, “Anónimas is a project from the vine to the consumer, a tribute to the anonymous women that should have had their place in history and were never recognized. We collaborate with other women in the world of w**egrowers, w**emakers, and enologists to make these personal w**es.”
