My great grandad Clarke’s Pocketwatch from 1960/70s. He worked at Bentley Colliery and had it on him all the time.
It was given to me a while ago as a keepsake but it never worked. Taking it apart the mainspring was broken so an easy replacement and away we go. Cheers Poppy!

I really like working on the older trench/cushion watches - a new glass does wonders for its look. This 1930s Ornema watch was perfect apart from the leather strap and glass. The original leather strap drank its own weight in leather conditioner and is now looking quite good. If you want to own this let me know.

Just finished a service of this Elgin antique watch with a sub-second dial. The dial is a bit patinated but it keeps good time. The case is gold plated and I think the leather strap may be original. I would guess the age 1930s or 40s perhaps. If interested in owning send me a message.

I bought this non-working Tudor Oyster at auction a while back - the glass was pretty poor, the watch would just wind and wind and wind so assumed the mainspring was broken and also the balance wheel was “sticky” (it wouldn’t rotate very freely).
One new glass, one new mainspring and lots of cleaning and relubricating later it lives!!! There is a little patination on the face that adds to the charm.
The strap is a vintage Excalibur strap.
It also keeps excellent time (within 5s per day).

Bit off topic but Christmas break project has been a Ford Model Y rear view mirror complete with integrated clock. Probably made in the 1940s by Lucas.
Complete strip down and clean (I’ve never seen so much oil) and relume of the hands. Casing cleaned up and painted.
