I disappeared into my studio whenever I could after Christmas and managed to make a few new pieces in time for the Conker Spring Market on 1st March. My website is also due for an update on stock and prices so I will be spending the next little while on getting that all up to date

I’ve managed to spend some time in my studio this week stocking up for Christmas. There are some new earrings in the making and I have been sand casting some silver shells ready to be made into pendants. I will be selling my wares at Conker Christmas Market on 14th December.

A few new pieces finished gearing up for Christmas the spinner ring has a stunning electric blue coloured piece of sea glass and one of the spinner bands is made from gold filled wire. I absolutely love the mixed metals together.

Two new necklaces on the way. Sea glass with shiva shell set in 100% recycled sterling and fine silver.

Five new rings finished today. There are a couple with some beautiful Seaham multis and a spinner ring with a touch of gold filled. I’m using any spare time that I have to get making and stock up for Christmas.

Yesterday I made a sea glass and shiva shell cuff bracelet and a matching sea glass and shiva shell necklace. The colours of the sea glass are beautiful and go so well with the shell.

Shiva shells are the operculum, or protective ‘door’, of a sea snail that resembles Lord Shiva’s third eye and they are found in tropical waters. When the snail dies, the shell detaches and is often found by beach combers.

Folklore suggests they are a symbol of good luck, especially for travellers and fisherman and are sometimes called ‘mermaids money’.
