Oh well - went off the rails a bit.....Aquarian trait sadly. I gave up on stubborn soldering I am 70 so don't have time to waste lol! I decided to do some granulation but I decided to vary the size of the little balls. I have created a heart and filled the heart with uneven and mismatched granulated balls deliberately. I am tempted to see what would happen if I flattened it but I kind of like the bumpiness of it - after all, everyone's heart has a bump every now and again! I have left a couple of little gaps because I feel like all those little balls symbolise love - love for a person, for a place, for an animal for food even! But there are things that you don't like - your heart can never be full of love because everyone dislikes something at some time - so there's gaps. It is pickling, it will be polished and then I might show the finished product.

Having a bitch of a day trying to solder one piece of metal to another. I think I know where I am going wrong and how to remedy it. So cleaning up the pieces because solder will not flow on dirty metal and I will try again. Good idea to make sure the torch is full so it gets to the right temperature. Perserverance is the key - or just plain old fashioned stubborness - it will not beat me!! I am making a ring by the way

All shiny - these little shells were sand cast and then filed and sanded to become earrings and a pendant. Again this lovely set is all down to the patient tuition of Jayne from Blodau A***n. I really wanted to give sand casting a go but would not have achieved this just by watching YouTube videos

Well - finally put ear posts on my little shell cast earrings and a jump ring on the shell pendant. They are tumbling for an hour and then I will put butterfly backs on them. Happy with the outcome and will show them when they are nice and shiny

I firmly believe that every person you meet has some sort of impact on your life - whether good or bad. I am lucky that I have had some (quite a few in fact) friendships that have lasted 60/50/40 years, we may not see each other very often but when we do it is exactly the same. Equally I have met new people who are really lovely and despite only knowing them a few years I value their ftiendships. Sadly because of my advanced age I have lost a few dear friends too. But everyone of my friends I have memories of that I treasure

Hopefully these 2 photographs will be mine soon. Someone I used to know in the old days ie 50+ years ago is no longer touring with all great bands and musicians but is now a Photographic Artist and I absolutely love these 2 photos, so I am going to buy both - fingers crossed. Well all the sprues are now off the cast shells, they have been filed and sanded and tomorrow it's time to put ear posts on the earrings and a jump ring on the pendant. Then put them in the tumbler for an hour to polish up. Looking forward to seeing the finished set
