Bear Hyde Bears Handmade artist bears and restoration of old bears and animals. Hi there! I'm Naomi and I make and restore bears.

I've been working with mohair bears for four years. I'm largely self-taught and have been sewing all my life. I use new and vintage mohair fabric for my bears, and they're stuffed with various stuffings including kapok, woodwool, polycotton and glass beads. I make bears using commercial patterns (that I won't sell due to the copyright on the patterns) and those of my own design. I've been restorin

g for a year and love doing it! It's great to give an old bear a new life and future. I don't like to restore a bear too much - it's not my aim to produce a 'new' bear from the old but to preserve what is already there and keep the bear recognisable to it's owner. I will repair anything I can be it old or new, bear, tiger dog, horse or dugong! If I don't feel comfortable about my ability to repair a bear I can refer the owner to other local restorers that I know and trust. I take commissions for new bears and restorations, prices on request.
