The Ring Atelier Fine jewellery by Sophie Stamp, and Make Your Own Wedding Ring Workshops, in the heart of Belfast.

Hello and welcome to The Ring Atelier, a Bristol based metalwork studio set up by Goldsmith Sophie Stamp. We design and make fine jewellery, bespoke engagement and wedding rings and heirloom / milestone jewellery, and we also invite couples into the studio to make their own wedding rings. Wedding rings can often be the last thing on the to do list when planning your big day ... BUT they will become an important part of your life together, so let's make them really special right from the start! Whether it be wedding or commitment rings, or simply a token to celebrate a special time or event, people looking for an alternative and more meaningful experience are choosing to get creative with their partner and make the rings themselves, here at our Bristol studio! Couples can choose to make their own rings or each others, to make it even more special. With over 14 years experience as a Goldsmith, founder and tutor Sophie is there to guide you through the process from start to finish. The rings are crafted by hand from recycled precious metals and completed within a day. If you love the idea of having handmade wedding bands but would prefer to have someone else do the making, we offer a bespoke design service. Perhaps you want something that fits snugly around your engagement ring, a band encrusted with diamonds, or to recycle sentimental gold into your wedding rings? Sophie will work with you to design & make the wedding bands by hand to your exact specifications.

HIKING! ⛰️πŸ₯ΎπŸŒ³ Literally my all time favourite pass time … and on 13th June I’m doing a long 18 mile trek in the Mourne Mountains to raise money for Marie Curie πŸ’ͺ

Marie Curie is there for anyone with an illness they’re likely to die from, and those close to them. Whatever the illness, wherever you are, they’re with you to the end. They bring 75 years of experience and leading research to the care they give you at home, in our hospices and over the phone. And they push for a better end of life for all by campaigning and sharing research to change the system.

My training so far has included …
A hike and scramble to the peak of Mount Errigal in Co.Donegal (it snowed at the top!)
Several walks to the top of Cave Hill (our local mountain!)
Trekking the route around Divis mountain (also local, oh the views!)
A steep hike up to the peak of Slieve Binnion in the Mournes (and absolutely epic views!)
A gentle walk and soaking up the forest vibes in Tollymore Forest, also in the Mournes.
A beautiful 15 mile walk along the North Down Coastal path (gotta get the distance in!!)

… and still some time to go … Gonna give this my absolute best shot and hopefully my creaky knees won’t let me down!!

NEW BEGINNINGS … Phew!! What an intense couple of months it’s been! Mixed emotions as we said goodbye to Bristol, our home for the last 6 years, and all the lovely friends and colleagues made along the way.

Thanks so much to all the wonderful people I have had the pleasure to work with so far on this journey. It’s been so lovely to support you in making your wedding rings, hearing your stories, creating unique and gorgeous jewellery for you and just getting to know you ❀️ I will be forever grateful for your faith in me and my small business.

For now, a slight pause whilst I get to know my new home in Belfast in beautiful Northern Ireland. A chance to work on the new collection which has been in the pipeline for so long 🫢 And of course catch up on posting about the lovely commissions and workshops from the past months.

My scalloped wedding band in 18ct yellow gold, made last year when and I made our own wedding rings together ❀️ The design is inspired by an ancient posey ring from the British museum archives, shaped to fit around my stunning engagement ring.

This ring forms part of my growing collection of wedding bands, available to commission in a variety of widths and metals, and can be shaped to fit snugly next to your engagement ringπŸ‘Œ.
