One thing my dear old A'level art tutor taught us, that has really stayed with me all these years, is knowing when to stop! So I now declare this finished before I ruin it! I'm calling it The Torrington Tree Creeper. A friend asked if I could paint something for an exhibition/auction that is being held to raise funds for a campaign to fight against a huge data centre being proposed in beautiful Torrington, North Devon. I hope someone falls in love with it and it makes a bit of cash! Now to scanning, varnishing and packaging before I send it on its way. 🙂

Happy Sunday! One more night of sharpening details and darkening shadows and maybe another little creature or two and this should be finished. I wanted to try painting a sort of 'living' frame (and have a go at doing moss) I've got a whole series of these in my head! But first I've got a huge 8 foot long sign to paint for our farm! Enjoy the rest of your weekends! ###

Afternoon! Hope you're having good weekends. Here's the little 20x20cm canvas I've been working on. Looking forward to painting the little tree creeper bird this evening. Anyone recognise where the landscape is? X

Happy World Elephant Day! Very envious of our son who has just returned from a Camps International trip to Kenya and seen herds of elephants in real life! Here are a couple of sketches of my favourite animals. 🙂🐘🐘🐘

Evening all. Now I know it's only July, but these things take time and life can sometimes get in the way too! If anyone would like a house portrait drawn in time for that festive thing that happens in December (too early to actually say the C word 😬) then please shout soon. I have 3 commission slots available if anyone is interested. I can do church portraits too which make a lovely anniversary gift. Wishing you all a great week. 🙂

Hello! Was having a sort out and found these little blasts from the past. It's been ages since I did any paper cutting! I still have a substantial stash of different card and sparkly papers. Might buy some new blades and make some fresh new cards. 🙂🦋

And then there were 3! 🙂 Hope you're all getting a chance to enjoy the lovely spring weather. 🌞🌞🌞
