Talmar Watches presents a one-off piece unique: a dive watch inspired by Kubrick’s 2001: A Space Odyssey.

At its heart is the HAL 9000 “eye” dial — a playful nod to cinema’s most unnerving AI, set against a rugged diver’s tool watch case.

🔹 200m water resistance (HAL can’t open the pod bay doors, but it can survive a swim)
🔹 High-quality sailcloth strap (built for spacewalks… or just the b**r garden)

In a few weeks we’re off to Estados Unidos Mexicanos, and I wanted something a little wild on the wrist. Enter The Kurtz — a jungle-ready Talmar one-off inspired by one of my all-time favorite Brando films, Apocalypse Now.

🎬 Movie lore:
Everyone remembers Brando’s stripped-down Rolex GMT — a legend in its own right — but the real Apocalypse Now diver belonged to Captain Willard. He wore the Seiko 6105, a true tool watch built for the jungle. I’m lucky enough to actually own a 6105 myself, the very model that went up the river on screen.

The Kurtz isn’t here to replace it — it’s just a playful nod, a wrist-sized homage to cinema, survival, and a dash of madness.

Would Colonel Kurtz approve? Probably not. But he’d definitely notice the lume. 🌌
