REMODEL ~ When three become one! It’s always a technical and creative challenge to receive 3 rings to be remodelled into one design that is balanced and wearable. We didn’t use all of the stones but most of them are included and all the metal was repurposed. It was really fun working with the client on this one with many iterations of art deco inspired designs filling my drawing book. I think the one that was chosen in the end really compliments her stones and the use of both white and yellow gold.

SO THIS IS LOVE ~ I’ve been working on this lovely engagement ring in the background, and am so pleased to be able to share it with you. Remodelled from an inherited platinum diamond engagement ring and wedding band. Ready to start a new chapter in celebrating the engagement of the original owner’s granddaughter. Such a lovely legacy. Many many congratulations Chloe & Matt. I loved working with you on this remodel and wish you all the best for your future together

AUTUMN VIBES in a ring. Just had to share this video in the sun of how the Imperial topaz, green sapphires, diamonds and citrines came together to create this one of a kind ring. I love the balance of all the colours, and it reminds me of my favourite seasonal quote “autumn reminds us of the beauty of letting go”. Which for this client was very powerful as this ring symbolises letting go of the past and celebrating her life now after some really tough times.

THE REVEAL ~ Just a little video of the two rings coming apart. Tuesday transformation!

MADE FOR YOU ~ These were a birthmas (Christmas & birthday) gift for a special someone. She wanted teal coloured gemstones so I hunted around for the perfect colour, which I definitely found. The colour on these are so vibrant. The diamond earring jackets mean she can change them up whenever she wants a different look. Everyday and statement in one set. Which do you prefer? Studs or studs with jackets? Vote in the comments

OOOPPS ~ Sometimes we can’t do it all right? As makers and people we have so many things to do and to show up for. Our best is always good enough. The fact I didn’t film every step of this ring being made doesn’t make it any less the gorgeous ethical contemporary but classic versatile statement that it is! The fact that is also supports an amazing women’s mining initiative called should be all that matters…did I also mention that I think it’s epic?! this one of a kind ring is available on my website

STAR DUST ~ My favourite gold fact is that it isn’t formed in our Earth like diamonds and other metals. Gold was formed when stars exploded and asteroids collided, falling to the earth to be found by humans eventually. It’s a finite resource, meaning that what is on the earth now, is all there will ever be…unless we have more star dust falling from the heavens. It’s fascinating to think about that, and it’s something I think about every time I hold a piece of gold. Tag someone who would love this fact.

TUESDAY THROWBACK ~ I don’t think that’s a thing, but I’m doing it anyway. We’re in full engagement ring and wedding band season so I can’t share all the secret designs I’m working on right now. However, it’s a good excuse the revisit some of the previous wedding bands. This chunky wedding band was so fun to make. 13g of white gold, using old hand cut inherited sapphires and diamonds. I love the contrast of those old classic stones in something bold and contemporary. Who loves a chunky ring like i do?

LATE NIGHTS! It’s the season for late night stone setting and my phone not recognising my thumb print anymore. Can’t grumble when a few evening hours produce these cute little gemstone studs. I’ve opted for dark green Tourmaline and Tanzanite. Which one would you choose?

DON’T not buy it?! I love the marquise shape, it’s not popular but I don’t care. This gorgeous Malawian sapphire is an unusual size and the most beautiful blue. I’m choosing stones to make some one of a kind pieces; I’ve been so busy with bespoke work that I haven’t been able to make any unique pieces like I used to. I can’t decide, do I make it into a super cool ring or a pretty pendant. What do you think?!
