It’s not how I expected my penultimate day at the craft fair to start: with a phone call to tell me my jewellery had been stolen.

Anyone who is a maker is aware of how difficult it is these days to make money making crafts and to have so much stolen on one go is a hard blow.

It’s been a horrible day, but it has also been a really lovely reminder of how supportive the craft community can be. People I barely knew brought me chocolates, checked in on me and generally made a very difficult morning feel a little less awful.

In the words of my dear friend : “es una putada pero no una desgracia”

Peace and love to you all except to the thief. ❤️

Let me tell you about the lady who came by my stall.

She stopped, looked at the whole thing, and said, “I love this.”

Not just the jewellery, but everything — the display, the background, the way it was all presented.

We ended up chatting for quite a long time, and just before she left, she said:

“The jewellery and you have exactly the same vibe.”

And I thought that was such a beautiful compliment.

Because I suppose, without really meaning to, a little bit of us always finds its way into the things we make.

Beginning another week at the West End Craft Fair in Edinburgh. I will be here until the 20th August along with other 75 makers and artists.

A beautifully curated and established fair which is well worth a visit.

Happy Easter! Easter is my favourite time to visit home and my family.

While walking in a small town I found a very old door knocker with the same texture as my decade’s necklaces. The thought of someone using it hundreds of years before me makes me smile.

I’ve been enjoying adding a touch of colour to my work with stones.

I’m slowly making a range of rings and pendants, trying different ideas. All very exciting for me!
