✨ Bishopsland Exhibition at Cutlers’ Hall - London Craft Week ✨

‘Book your free tickets for our pop-up exhibition, part of London Craft Week, a selling exhibition with over 100 unique and hand-crafted objects and jewellery.

Join us on 12 May 2026, from 3.30-7.30pm (last entry 7pm) for refreshments, an opportunity to meet the makers behind the pieces and chat to other silversmithing enthusiasts.

All emerging makers on our current programme will be exhibiting at our selling exhibition, alongside a wide selection of Bishospland alumni, many of whom are leading contemporary makers.’

Such a fab time down at with ! I was in the ‘Festival of Silver’ Marquee among so many talented silversmiths!! ✨

I enjoyed chatting to so many visitors and being able to showcase my work in such a beautiful setting!

All the jewels 💎 🍃

I have stocked up my jewellery just in time for the lovely Craft in Focus show as RHS Wisley Gardens in Surrey! I’ll be showing my work in the Festival of Silver Marquee C, I’m not often down this way being tucked away in Scotland so if you’re near by please come by!

I’ll be showing my silversmithing, jewellery as well as some colourful copper work so a full spectrum of items to feast your eyes on!

I’ll be at Wisley from this Thursday 30th April till Monday the 4th of May ✨

Kelpie Bowl 🌊

One of my recent commissions that I particularly enjoyed creating was the Kelpie Bowl. Inspired by the client’s horse, Kelpie, I wanted to capture a fairytale-like scene — with Kelpie swimming through swirling water, fish darting between flowing currents, and touches of gold weaving through the waves.

I hand-raised the bowl from a flat sheet of silver into its final form before applying the detailed decoration. Using chasing and repoussé, I worked from the inside to gently push Kelpie forward from the surface, giving the figure a subtle sense of movement and depth. The bright gold on the inside really makes this piece come alive, and further acts as shimmering water with the design coming through on the inside.

Chased shallow dish with interweaving wild flowers and leaves 🍃

I made this while were filming here. I began by sinking the form and planishing the surface, before building the floral decoration through chasing — using steel tools to embed texture and fine detail into the silver.

I thought I’d do a wee introduction after a recent flurry of followers 👋

Hello! I’m Katie, a silversmith and jeweller creating thoughtfully handcrafted pieces that tell detailed, illustrative stories of nature in silver, inspired by the landscapes of Scotland.

I tend to include hidden details in my work whether that be tiny insects illustrated on the inside of a box or leaves scattered on the base of a cup - with layered textures, gemstones, and touches of gold that bring each scene to life. I love making pieces full of detail so you spot something new every time you look.

I’ve recently been exploring new ideas and materials (lately wood, copper patination, and more sculptural objects), but with chasing and repoussé at the heart of what I do.

I’m based in the Scottish Borders at within , where I manage the workshop and work alongside a brilliant creative community.

I run chasing and repoussé classes, build collections for exhibitions through the year as well as work on commissions from you lovely lot!

So grateful to be doing what I love, even if it’s a bit of a rollercoaster! 💛

✨ I can finally reveal that I’ll be appearing on as part of their ‘On the Road’ series! ✨

Watch my episode TONIGHT at 8pm on BBC Scotland and BBC iPlayer, and then on BBC one later in the year. You’ll get to see what I’m making in the workshop with the help of the brilliant !

Such an exciting experience and a huge honour to be part of such a loved programme — I’m beyond grateful and still pinching myself, even if it’s slightly nerve-wracking to watch it back 😅

Chasing and repoussé uses hand tools to create line, texture and depth. Think of the metal as your canvas, ready to be drawn on! These techniques can be applied to anything from small jewellery pieces to larger forms, offering endless creative possibilities.

Really excited to have a few piece’s in the Visual Arts Scotland 2025 Biennial Exhibition ‘The Thread That Pulls’, taking place across the Upper Galleries of the Royal Scottish Academy building in National Galleries of Scotland!

The show brings together over 400 artworks from artists and makers from various disciplines. On until the 2nd of January (excluding Christmas and Boxing Day) so go see it while you can. ✨
