Design, colour and nature have been very much a part of who I am since childhood but it is only in recent years that I have discovered how much these elements influence us all throughout our lives. I've always believed that when it comes to being creative, there aren'
t any rules. "Colouring outside of the lines" is absolutely ok and in actual fact, necessary to be able to explore the unknown. The influence behind the 'BLOOMING range was the very colourful and happy flower called the Gerbera (a member of the daisy & sunflower family). My design has a "messy circle" and this represents designing and thinking outside the boundaries. I also look at all the elements that make up a design in nature and in the case of the Gerbera, it is the petal and the centre. The second range WALKABOUT, relates to the natural elements of my homeland, Australia. The first collection 'Bottlebrush' is inspired by the bottlebrush bush, being one of my favourite Australian native plants and the designs again are influenced by the individual elements - the leaf, the bud and the flower. The 'Mirrabooka Wattle' collection is inspired by the Australian Wattle tree and the Southern Cross Constellation found in our southern sky. Mirrabooka is Aboriginal for the Southern Cross. The 'Dreaming' collection represents my homeland but can also represent your home too. It is a bespoke range, which is made to order. The third range - SEASONS is inspired by the seasonal changes throughout the year - Winter to Spring, then to Summer, followed by Autumn. The first collection 'Harmony' was inspired by the snowy mountains of Whistler in Canada, and in particular the ski run known as Harmony Ridge, which is very close to my heart. The second collection 'Holly' was inspired by the winter season and Christmas, where the red berries add colour to the darker days. The third collection 'Love' represents Spring and all things that are possible. My story will continue to unfold, with the flowering of more designs. Thank you for being a part of my travels so far.
