✨️ Ever wondered how you make hinges for a locket? :p for something this small (2cm!) Two or three cylindrical sections will work - in this example, one is soldered to the edge of the 'door', and one to the edge of the 'box', lined up so that the lid sits flush against the body.. then you cut a length of silver wire of a slightly smaller diametre, using your flame to heat up one end until it melts to form a a beaded stopper/ball. This is then thread through the centre of the cylinders to hold them together, and then the flame is used again on the other end to create another stopper.
Quick step-by step of making this little thing from start to finish, so you can get an idea of the order things are done in :D the little stone is a black Opal.
Let me know if you fancy any further brief smithing lessons.. there are sooo many cool techniques to talk about :D
