❤️ So this happened… ❤️ My gorgeous step daughter Lucy married beautiful Bel in Madrid last week. It was the perfect day (week). Our families all came together to celebrate them in a big beautiful blended feast of love, food, music and dancing. There were many tears, lots of laughs and an abundance of crazy dancing too. It was wonderful!

💎 Watch to the end to see the rings, made by yours truly, with a teeny bit of gold added in from my Mother-in-law’s wedding band, which I kept aside, after resizing it for her recently.

💛 Adding that wee sliver of gold in, made the rings extra special because Lucy’s beloved Nanny and Grandy couldn’t travel to the wedding in Spain, but they were present in the rings ❤️❤️ Nice, and a real compliment to me, to be asked to make the rings for the first of our beautiful children to tie the knot. 💕

💎 Jewellery aside though, it was the most perfect of days. Welcome Bel, to the madhouse!! Please check out Bel’s music peeps, this is her singing over the top of the reel. Yes she is incredibly talented and went straight from getting married to singing ‘Birds of a Feather’ by with the amazing band @ 🎤

💎 💎 Check out this matching pair of engagement rings and wedding bands, a ‘hers and hers’ set for two very special women who get married very soon. Made from scratch, by yours truly, with a little of Nanny’s gold mixed in the gold too, salvaged from a wedding ring resize! Extra special because Nanny isn’t able to fly out to the wedding. 💔

✈️ I flew all the way to Spain to deliver these as I just couldn’t have lived with the nervous wait while they travelled through the postal service. And I’m heading back out on Wednesday to attend the wedding! ❤️

💛 Made by hand in 18ct gold and set with two absolutely gorgeous lab grown diamonds from Kerry . Process videos to come. 🙌

⭐️This never ceases so amaze me. Wealth seems so ethereal in this day and age, with apps that tell us how much ‘money’ we have in the bank. It’s just a figure on the screen, or is it? 💰

⭐️ But this is the history of gold, from the first ever traders trading in beads and coins to massive bars of solid gold being stockpiled under our London streets, wealth is still held like this.

⭐️To us goldsmiths, gold is our raw material, we spend years learning how to bend, twist and manipulate it into beautiful heirlooms to pass through families, it falls from the stars and becomes so many things to so many people, capturing memories and feelings, but also wealth.

🩶When I started making jewellery it was considered expensive, that was 25 years ago. Silver has increased year on year since then but in the last year…it’s more than doubled. In ONE year!?
