What I saw - what I made…

It’s been lovely doing events this Summer and seeing how people react to different pieces and what the textures remind them of. It’s one of my favourite things about doing in person events.

Ive got my last one coming up this weekend in Edinburgh! You’ll find me at National Galleries Scotland: Portrait with Tea Green Est.2014 this Saturday and Sunday 15 - 16 August. Come and say hi and try on some jewellery.

Hi I’m Emma, a jewellery designer and maker based in Glasgow. I really enjoy making small batches and one off pieces inspired by coastal textures and found objects.

More recently parts of my work have begun to move towards underwater textures and seaweed. Inspired by what I’ve seen whilst snorkelling around the Scottish coast.

My jewellery is for people who love beach combing, collecting natural objects or looking at tiny textures by the sea.

I had such a lovely time at Tea Green Est.2014 last weekend in The Burrell. Thanks to everyone who came to have a chat with me or placed orders, it felt like a really productive weekend and was great being so close to home!

This month feels really busy, which is nice but it means I’m juggling a lot of different parts of my work. Im still getting used to the juggle being back part time after Mat leave, so im just chipping away at things where I can. This week I’m catching up on a bit of admin and some orders in the workshop before heading off to Fife this weekend for Tea Green Est.2014 at BOWHOUSE. Let me know if I’ll see you there!

I had another lovely studio visit last week. I think this might be one of my favourite things about the new studio space.

If you have a wedding coming up or a bespoke piece in mind, get in touch and we can arrange a studio visit to chat through your ideas.

Another batch from the what I saw ~ what I made series, this time focusing on my Fossil Hagstone earrings. Inspired by some amazing fossil textures I saw on the Isle of Skye.

You can order these now on from my website, the silver version is in stock and I’ll have the gold plated version back in stock very soon.

Really enjoying having a bit of inspiration up on the walls while I work. I think I’m going to end up having a bit of a sketchbook wall eventually - I like to have my samples & drawing visible if possible so that I don’t forget about them. Anyone else have a sketchbook wall?

A little shot from the workshop - I’m filing some of my Gentle Wave Hoops ready for soldering. There something really satisfying about filing and finishing metal by hand. I love taking a bit of time to slow down and enjoy making a piece.
