Looking forward to .market this Saturday 10th October.

The market runs from 11am -4pm at Michael Hall School, Kidbrooke Park, Priory Road, Forest Row, East Sussex

This long-standing event is a fabulous mix of stalls, both inside and out (I’m inside!) and is definitely worth a visit!

I went over to yesterday to deliver some new pieces to Petworth Pop Up Shop & Boutique. This is a space within the wonderful Oakapple Trading for small, independent makers.

Oakapple Trading is located in Golden Square in the heart of Petworth, West Sussex. It’s a wonderful place! As always, I did a bit of shopping myself while I was there - a few treats for me and several birthday presents!

It’s always worth a visit!

Moss Agate, garnet and black agate necklace with silver accents.

Both these pendants have been created using the process of Reticulation where the silver is heated multiple times to create a beautiful unique texture. The stone is a white topaz.

This beautiful stone is Kyanite.

Shades of green - all in Gallery BN5 Henfield for October.

The stones are: aventurine, malachite, copper turquoise, peridot and tourmaline (October’s birthstone).

Gallery BN5 is open Monday to Saturday, 10am - 2pm. Henfield High Street

All change for October!

I have just changed my display in Gallery BN5 with some new pieces.

Each month in .bn5 we have a refresh of art and artists which means there are always new pieces to look at, buy - or just covet!

Pop in and say hello. The Gallery is run by the artists so there is always someone different to chat with - and no doubt who would be delighted to share their passion for their art.

This little pendant is currently at Gallery BN5 Henfield in Henfield.

There is something incredibly beautiful about letting the metal speak for itself. This is reticulation—a technique which I’ve been playing around with a lot recently. Heat is used to intentionally wrinkle the surface of the silver, creating a miniature, wearable landscape. Every ripple is completely unrepeatable, making this piece entirely unique to whoever wears it. The beautiful single freshwater pearl adds movement.

I hope it finds a home with someone who loves it as much as I do!

Just had my final marking session with my mentor from the Jessica Rose | Jewellers Academy for the results of my Fine Jewellery Diploma!

It’s a pass or fail scenario, and I am delighted with the marks I achieved for my pass! I have learnt so much during this year-long diploma. I loved most of the projects although I have to admit working with wax and rendering designs are not for me….

I loved my final project (based on my own designs taking inspiration from Mexico) and was delighted with the final result of the garnet and topaz gold and silver cluster ring. This was the project that persuaded me to take the course - and (surprise, surprise) it’s my size!

Now what’s next….?

Artists in the Gallery | Joanna’s Designs in Silver

Meet Jo Beard, the designer and maker behind Joanna’s Designs in Silver and one of the artists showing at Gallery BN5.

Working from her studio here in Henfield, Jo creates handcrafted jewellery using traditional silversmithing techniques, recycled sterling silver and semi-precious gemstones.

Inspired by the smooth, organic shapes found in nature, her designs are elegantly understated and beautifully wearable, with hammered textures and colourful gemstones adding character and individuality to each piece.

New pieces for Gallery BN5

I had a busy day in Gallery BN5 Henfield today! A lovely flurry of visitors to the Gallery with a variety of art off to new homes! I also changed over my display ready for September.

Here are some of the new pendants and earrings which are now on display. I swapped out some other pieces but if you’ve noticed something you like and it’s no longer on display, do just message me as it may not have been sold - or if it has I may be able to recreate the item!

Do pop in to see what our lovely gallery has to offer. We are open Monday - Saturday 10am-2pm and are situated right on Henfield High Street, BN5. We all take it in turns to run the gallery so you will get a chance to meet one of the artists in person.

Enjoy the rest of August - where has the summer gone!
