GBS descended on the Star Gun Club on Sunday for its annual charity shoot, raising money for Combat Stress. We were blessed with incredible weather again, and many GBS friends arrived with their competitive hats on, eager to win the Trophies.

The Star provided us with some brilliant targets, as always, great hospitality, and lovely food.

We raised a fantastic £1300, with great thanks to the Star Gun Club for their contribution, the CPSA for raffle donations, to all those competing, and to many who were unable to attend.

A big thank you goes to the excellent Sarah Franklin, who supported me with raffle ticket sales and scoring, making the shoot run much smoother. Chip and Chris, by my side, also contributed to the running of the shoot, and I couldn’t do it without them.

It was brilliant to see Darren from the Combat Stress team helping with the raffle tickets and informing friends about the excellent work they do. This fantastic competition would never exist if it weren’t for the support of all our GBS friends, so I thank you all so much for coming and supporting a brilliant Charity.

Please save the date: our next competition will be on Sunday, October 11, 2026, at the Star Gun Club, and we will be delighted to see you all again.

Wow, what a competition! On Saturday, Chip shot with the England FITASC team at Hodnet. Superb targets as always, and the gusting wind made for a challenging shoot. Chip shot brilliantly, finishing joint 5th overall and winning,

England Super Veteran Team Gold with Glen Hunt.
The England team also won the event.🏆

These events, especially from a support role, provide an opportunity to see some excellent shooters and appreciate just how exceptionally talented they all are. It's a privilege to know so many friends from around the country, and I congratulate all the winners on some superb shooting.💥💥

I'm so delighted for Chip over the last few weeks. Winning the County side by side last weekend and this weekend winning a silver medal with his Bl**er at the UK FITASC Sporting Championships in Blyton.

It was a real privilege to visit a new shooting ground, where you are made to feel so welcome, and that's not just the ice cream! The whole team at the shooting ground worked incredibly hard, and the targets, the friendly atmosphere, and the enormous amount of work that went into it made the shoot one of the best. It's been a long time since I have had the chance to shoot such brilliant but challenging targets.

Next weekend, Chip shoots with the England FITASC team, and I wish him and all the team the very best of luck.💥💥

World Super Veteran Sportrap Champion 🏆

We were over the moon four years ago when Chip won the World Veteran Champion Title, but to win again, this time, the Super Veteran title, is a dream come true—it's just brilliant.

Chip and I decided to shoot the Bl**er Cup, hosted by Ian Coley Sporting. This was the first time we have shot at the ground although visited many years ago. We enjoyed shooting with a brilliant squad. The mix of targets, great hospitality and lovely referees made a fun day and we both shot well😁💥💥

Yesterday, team GBS went on its annual trip to the beautiful West Kent Shooting School for the Kent Police shoot. It's an opportunity to shoot some great targets with superb hospitality with our friends, which makes this a very special day. I'm so pleased we won Team Guest Gold, with Chip winning High Gun with an impressive 92 and me, Lady High Gun.💥💥

I am very chuffed to have finished 2nd in Ladies at Barbury for the FITASC Sporting British Masters yesterday. It was a super shoot with brilliant targets, and the Barbury team worked so hard to make everything work. Massive congratulations to Lucy Earl and Johanne Field. Chip finished joint 3rd in veterans but lost out with a medal on countback!💥💥

Last night, Chip and I were invited by the Combat Stress Charity to their Extra Mile Awards at the Cavalry and Guards Club in Piccadilly. It was a great privilege to be surrounded by such wonderful people and to be recognised for our annual clay pigeon competition. The fundraisers were all amazing, and the Combat Stress team made us feel very welcome.

Visiting the Cavalry and Guards Club, in addition to the event itself, was exceptional. The building is stunning, showcasing breathtaking artwork, and its history is remarkable.

However, none of this would have happened without you, our GBS friends, for your support of the shoot over the years, and to the Star Gun Club for hosting us! Thank you all so much, and we would love to see you again at this year’s event on Sunday, October 12th, at the Star Gun Club in Malden Rushett.💥💥
