Just a little reminder that this is the final week of this touring exhibition Made In The Middle at MAC Birmingham. It closes on Saturday, which is the first chance I’m having to go visit it myself. ❤️🔨💪❤️This week is also the last week of written assignments for my teacher training and that is a glorious thought. Very very soon I get to start thinking about my creative journey and business ventures again. So excited to make new plans, with new eyes and new adventures. But mainly it’s exciting because there will be no more essays 😂🤪😵‍💫

A few weeks ago I was delighted to receive this lovely pin in the post, from after receiving a Precious Metals Training Bursary in 2023. Life has been so busy with teacher training that I barely get time to look at instagram atm let alone touch a hammer and metal 🙁 but I’ve finally created a post to say thanks!
Heritage Crafts are an essential organisation to support endangered crafts, to help makers in all stages of their careers to fund training and skill sharing and revive and revitalise so many different skills, materials and processes. Please check out their website, Instagram , LinkedIn or Facebook and investigate the Red List of Endangered Crafts for more information and to investigate further bursaries to support your practice. A big part of teacher training for me is to encourage the young generation to pick up tools and materials and keep those hand skills alive. Engaging in creativity is something to be preserved and nurtured and if it involves hammers and metals then my job here is worthwhile, not just for the good of my mental health!

Mini ‘Nests’, proof that my naming of my work requires more thought! These little mini sculptures are based upon my larger scale work in show with the wonderful Made In The Middle touring exhibition, soon to be opening at the MAC in Birmingham.

Not only is this week the last week of my first teaching placement, but this weekend will be the first time this year I’ll have time to go to my workshop. Also, the suns out and it’s nearly spring…. I wore my sunglasses earlier today. Does life get more exciting than this?!

Good morning to all of my new followers 👋👋👋 and thanks for following ❤️ It’s absolutely awesome that so many of you are interested in foldforming and line-scoring metal, using those hammers and hands to sculpt and form metal. Fabulous stuff!!

Good 2026 all👋 I just wanted to pop on here to let you all know about 2 different classes that I am teaching again starting this July 2026. I’ve so missed teaching and inspiring metal mania in you all! 🔨🔨❤️🔨🔨❤️ So, if you fancy getting booked in early in Leicester to learn decorative wireworking and in Hatton Garden London to make amazing foldformed copper samples then I’ll be dropping the links when the classes go live very soon. I’ll be posting lots of reminders in the coming months. I’m also opening my books for one to one and small group classes at my workshop in Leicester. More details to follow. https://theforgespace.com/ https://attenborougharts.com/whats-on/category/creative-courses/

My annual Christmas decoration appreciation post. If it’s wrong being in love with every single sparkly glittery morsel, whether hand made or from the quid shop, then I don’t want to be right. I’m already sad everything gets packed away soon ❤️🎄🥂

Last night’s mission was to dress my tree, because sparkles and atmosphere are good for the soul, especially when there’s an essay to write next week. Yikes, who knew that teacher training would be so all consuming and exhausting?! 🥱😴😵‍💫
I seriously expected to be finding time to regularly pick up a hammer or two, but unfortunately I was deluded 😂❤️🔨 So I’ve had a little reel back this morning, just to remind myself that I do make beautiful things, keep the faith Emma and dream about where I’ll take my creative journey when I’m back up and running. Happy holidays and restful downtime to all, when there’s time 😂❤️🔨 🎄🥂💃

I’m looking forward to seeing you 👋❤️🤙
