This Friday I’m delighted to be taking part in a Nacre and the Grain: Contemporary Jewellery and the Scottish Landscape
V&A Dundee, Friday 29 May 2026
10am-2pm
In collaboration with: Art Jewelry Forum and Craft Scotland
A public event at V&A Dundee will showcase research from The Nacre and the Grain: Contemporary Jewellery and the Scottish Landscape, bringing together contemporary jewellery, ecological thinking, and Scottish material culture.
Developed from a recently published book chapter by Kristin Beeler and Professor Emeritus Sandra Wilson in 'Sustainable Jewelry: History, Culture and Territory', the event reflects ongoing research in jewellery, sustainability, and the uniquely Scottish relationship between making and place.
The programme will begin with an introductory session in the Juniper Auditorium, followed by a meet-the-artists session in the Robertson Studio. The event offers audiences an opportunity to hear from makers working across Scotland and to explore how landscape, geology, and environmental responsibility inform contemporary jewellery practice.
