Did you catch me calling my own ring by the wrong name?

That is Violet in the stack and not the Ivy. I designed it and I wear it every day so there is really no excuse for my brain wandering off like that. 😅

Long before I worked in gold, I was collecting little treasures I found in nature.

Growing up in South Africa, I'd sit for hours with whatever I'd picked up that day, turning it over in my hands. That never really stopped. It just got more expensive 🙈

Antlers and bamboo inspired Martha, with her soft, organic shapes running round the band.

Nearly thirty years in fine jewellery and I'm still doing what I was doing then.

When it comes to bespoke work each piece can start in a very different way...

Some people come to me with a very clear idea. Others arrive with a ring that hasn't been worn since it was left to them and a feeling they can't quite put into words. Both are a lovely place to start ✨✨

Our first conversation is about what you're drawn to, how you want the piece to feel and what it's there to mark. The sketching comes after that. I guide you through every decision along the way, so nothing ever arrives as a surprise.

Sometimes it's something entirely new. Sometimes it's a piece you already own, given a new chapter.

Either way, it ends up being completely yours 🤍

Ever picked up something in nature, carried it home and then had no idea what to do with it?

That is often the start of my design process.

🐚 Three shells and a handful of seeds are a few of my latest finds. No sketch yet, just small objects I couldn’t leave behind!

Plenty of what lands on my desk doesn’t become anything at all but I keep them anyway. The ones that turn into something have usually sat there for a few months...at first looking like nothing before I decide what to do with them.

I love the smooth, tactile feeling of a bezel set gemstone. That is where the Pebble Set Collection started.

Sarah’s Pebble Set Five Stone ring is five ovals of facetted tanzanite that you could pull a sleeve right over without giving it a second thought. That is what I’m trying to achieve with my designs. Something you put on and forget you are wearing, something that just fits into your everyday life.

Three, four or five stones and they are always yours to pick.

A sea urchin grows spines to protect what is underneath.

That is where Ivy came from and it is why I have never been able to think of it as just a beaded band. The beading alternates the whole way round so it catches the light unevenly and it is very satisfying to run a finger over. No photograph has ever managed to show you that.

Ivy is the one that gives a stack its punctuation. Wear it on its own or put it between two plain bands and see what it does to them.

It started with one ring for one person.

That setting is the Pebble set and it comes three ways. The three and the four are set with the same size stone so what changes between them is how far it runs across your finger. The five is the full run.

You choose the gemstone/s so no two Pebble rings come out the same.

Solid 9ct yellow gold and made to order in three to four weeks.
