It was a pleasure to have a quick chat with Chris West from Academy FM, and such a lovely surprise to be included in their Breakfast Show this week.

Sophia 21 is one of the most personal designs I have ever created. It was developed for Down Syndrome Awareness Month and inspired by Trisomy 21, with every detail carrying meaning. The 21 leather strips across the front represent chromosome 21, the centre twist takes inspiration from DNA, and the X and I charms continue the story behind the design.

For a short time, Sophia 21 can also be created in a completely individual colour combination. There are more than 20 Italian leather colours to choose from, and I can work with you directly on the colours, create digital mock-ups and send leather swatches so you can become part of the design process yourself.

A contribution from every Sophia 21 sold goes back to 21 Together, supporting the charity’s work with children, young people and families in the Down syndrome community.

I didn’t want to create simply a beautiful bag. I wanted to create a bag with meaning, where every detail connects back to the story behind Sophia 21.

The front is constructed from 21 individual leather strips, representing Trisomy 21. At the centre, the leather twists together as a reference to DNA, while the X and I charms continue that symbolism and also connect to 21 Together’s 10-year anniversary.

The colours have meaning. The original design was created using the charity’s turquoise, pink and lime green, with contrast hand-stitching adding another layer of character and individuality.

Sophia 21 was created for Down Syndrome Awareness Month and in support of 21 Together, a charity that works with children, young people and families in the Down syndrome community.

And now, for a limited time, I’m inviting you to become part of the design process yourself.

With more than 20 luxuriously soft leather colours to choose from, your Sophia 21 can be created in a completely individual colour combination.

We are currently sending free swatches, creating digital mock-ups and helping you explore the colours until the design makes sense to you.

The original bag was made by me but each of the 10 pre-ordered pieces is going to be handcrafted in London using beautiful Italian leather and lined in soft suede, with every piece individually numbered.

And with every Sophia 21 sold, a contribution goes back to 21 Together.

So you are not only creating a very unique piece. You are also supporting the work of a charity that means so much to so many people, and helping support someone life and new beginnings no matter how big or small.
